I think that is the biggest question this year for your boys. They will bounce back well after a disappointing 2012. But who will play half back?

It'll be interesting to see if we miss Maloney as much as we were thinking at the beginning of 2012. He was a great player for the Warriors but he didn't want to be there for most of 2012. Hopefully who we have now on the park wants to be based in NZ.

I believe Thomas Leuluai is a better player than Maloney, in a number of ways. But he's going to be our halfback, not our number 6. We'll be a much stronger team for having an experienced halfback who is a strong defender and carries a f**kload of mana.

Maloney was a good player but I felt defence was missing however the desire not to be in Auckland probably meant his heart wasn't at both Warriors in 2012, and like a lot of us we hold nothing against him wanting to go back home. I think you are right that having Thomas here as a 7 with SJ as first receiver off set play will be good and if SJ plays like 2011 and most of 2012 off a scrum within the oppositions 10 they'll score a lot of tries.

I have a good feeling well be back in the 8 next year, maybe not much higher than 8th but would be good to set realistic goals for 6th place for a home final

Certainly agree. Its not often I say a players hearts not in it, but for mine Brown and Maloney defended like soggy bread in the second half of the year. What we'll certainly miss with Maloney is his instinctive ability to hit a hole off an offload. He's outstanding at that. I think Locke needs to be that guy this season coming.

I wasn't over fussed about losing Brown and once it was confirmed he was heading to Penrith we should've used other Toyota Cup or Vulcans players that actually had a future at the Warriors, once we were in the rut there was no point playing him.
