Anderson was good, BMM was really good, Api was excellent.

Blake and Smith pretty good too. And our backs are not particularly quick, fast enough but they're not speed demons besides maybe Moss.

Gus just got interviewed on MMM and said he expects us to be a bit rusty for a few weeks due to a number of players coming back from off season surgery.

Well, our pre-season couldn't have been worse, so lets hope all the rustiness was condensed into that. Still, I don't like the sound of excuses being made before the season has even kicked off.....

Unfortunately that's exactly what it sounded like to me when I heard it.

Nice composed first half. Not many errors or missed tackles, which is what you want in round one. Let's hope the 2nd half is more of the same.

Not sure what caused that last 15 collapse, though it's something we did a bit last season as well. Probably just a coincidence, but we were 24 ahead when Kite came back on.......

Got complacent, stopped locking the ball up in the tackle, dogs started to play. Great defence for 60mins, 2 points, could hardly be happier. Rules and heat helped us heaps, our backs were huge at the start of both offensive and defensive sets, so physical, DWZ and Jennings were f**king punishing ppl for trying to tackle them.

We dominated the hell out pf that game until Ben Cummins tried stamping his authority on the game. I expected our pack to get hammered, so it was truly impressive watching us dominate a much bigger pack.

I dislikeKite, but it had nothing to do with him. It was Ben Cummins trying to get Bulldogs back into it and squaring up the penalty count.

He ignored blatant forward passes, created reasons to penalise us and was one sided entirely the last 15 minutes.

Edit
Kite put on some good hits to be honest. Most physical game he has played for us.

The way the panthers played in the first half,I knew that the last 15 minutes of the game would be crucial.

As far as I'm concerned, that was our 2nd last "trial" match so to speak.

And once we get back to full strength,we'll be showing the football world what we are all about.

There were a couple of silly errors in this game which made you bang your head against the wall.

But to the defense of the Panthers, the errors, handling and defensive came about due to players running on reserves of energy.

Once we get that crap out of our game, and drum it into the younger players into not getting baited by the opposition, the better off we will be.

That first 60 minutes was nothing but pure class, albeit the attack still needs quite a bit of work to do especially near the opponents try line.

The defense,immaculate.

But in saying that,it was a Canterbury side in which IMO,is a better outfit than last year's.

If we can do that kind of damage to a side that is widely tipped as a top 4 finish, god knows what we can do for the rest of the season.

Good times ahead indeed.;-)

I thought it was a great game. The two new guys did really well. Some promising signs for so early in the season.

DWZ might be a bit of a hot head. Hope he gets it under control. I was only able to 30 mins or so. Liked what I saw. It's only round 1 so can't get too excited but looks good.

Was pleasantly surprised with how good our go forward was for the first 60 minutes.

I expected to go get rolled in the middle but the boys really aimed up.

Imagine when we have Segs, Api and Peachy all on the field at once. The footwork will unlock plenty of space for the backs.

The way Seg played today their won't be any need for Api
