The Mole saying that Grant is out today along with Jamal, any truth to that?

Assuming that Latimore will come in if true.

Ffs. No idris or grant? We can't catch a break. Grant supposedly passed a fitness test. We're going to kick the year off with losses in all 3 grades.

Some things never change......who else but Penrith can find a way to give a penalty away after the half time siren has sounded whilst in possession of the ball allowing the opposition to go in to the lead at half time!!

I have been critical of Mansour being too slow for a winger but if he keeps scoring tries like this he will be there forever. One try from pure strength dragging 3 players over the line and then a super athletic diving effort !!!

So happy to be wrong today.

Peachey - Whare - Mansour looks better than Brown - Whare - Mansour.

Thought Moylan had a strong game at the back, and Wallace was able to settle things down once we got ahead. Plum strong as usual. Soward looks like he needs to slim down by the looks.

Good start to the season. A shit first half, but we ground them down in the second. The injuries they had obviously helped.

Tale of two halves, both time and field wise. First half was mostly left to right and looked like 20010/2011. Second half right to left looked gun.

With kite, docker and plum starting it was plod central, Grant is so important.

Overall pretty great defense across the park, apart fro that one try we let in. The weather or something must have been brutal in that first half, since both teams drastically reduced their error sin the second. Everyone out there got the ob the done, and that's what counts. Sure, Newcastle had some bad luck, but the team should only get better as they play more games together.

Yeo did a fine job. Props to him. And how big was Latimore's smile when he put that try down? Mansour brilliant efforts, and Moylan's 40/20 save was excellent.

All in all not a bad start to season. We should be on the top for the time being.

Happy with that first up display.

Can't get to carried away though, they lost a lot of players mid game. And key position players.

I know we've had some injuries but mid game injuries are much harder to deal with.

Still some great positives.

Why did they take soward off for? It was Wallace doing all the work. Did he get an injury - I was unable to see the whole gAme damn it .

Just on Mansour as well.

Ordinary first half but what we saw in that second half is why hes special. The leg drive he has is amazing.

There's tons of quick players but few who can carry defenders over the line.

This may be controversial amongst some, but I reckon Simmons is much more likely to lose his spot. Not necessarily through bad form but through pressure of the likes of Nabuli/Roberts ( when fit) he's also going to miss Whare inside of him.

I always backed Mansour to be a try scoring freak when he had a decent centre. He definitely is. Strength to bust one on one tackles is just as valuable as pace from 10m out. So many people argued he couldnt score, yet after his return from injury last year he has scored plenty of freakish tries. He's more then a workhorse winger.

Even with that workload and strength... Naiqama, roberts, jennings bros, dwz, nabouli etc. coming through and neither winger should feel safe.
