Go the Duff, he confirmed what we could all see it plain as day, unfortunately not the people that make the big decisions.

Good to hear him speak well of the coaches as all this press about him having to play for a contract extension I thought may have put him off somehow.
Dufty would have to be dreaming if he believes that his game is back on track. I'm sure the coaching staff will not sit idly by and select Dufty at fullback if his defence and ability under the high ball have not improved since season 2020.

I hope Elliott is coaching the team to be able to catch a football and moving with speed. This is the best thing an attacking side needs to do. Not pass and plod. Everything has got to do with speed in both attack and defence. If I see a failing in this area, I'm not going to be very happy.

Yes and let's hope Gentle has been working hard on the teams defensive structure and the player's defensive skills. This was my main concern in the CS game.

I’m no Dufty fan boy as you know but coming into 2021 he’s the least of our concerns.
I truely hope that your are right Maddragon99. I would like nothing better than to see him be solid in the last line of defence and also to occasionally take the high ball with confidence and sprint halfway up the field.

We have a big ask with that forward pack. It doesn't look like it's got enough in it but hope they surprise me.
Not sure about Williame on the bench either. Is Sullivan injured?

Yes Sullivan is out for about a month with a hammy. William is the only surprise to me. I would have preferred Ravalawa on the bench to Williame; I suppose William is there as a straight swap for Bird if he doen't last the full 80min. If that is the case then I would have put Max Feagai at left centre and Bird on the bench.

It must be that Merrin will be used off the bench as a replacement for lock and prop. he must be doing better than Ellis in Griffins eyes.

His improvement in attack and combining with Lomax gives him reason to feel more confident. Don't kick the kid when he's getting better.

May the boys show huge improvement in this the1st game of season 2021 . Their defensive efforts must be the priority , if they can do that and the halves finally gel , then the backs will have room to move and to use their attacking ability .

The team cannot approach this game with the attitude of “ it’s only the first game of the year and we have all season to improve should we lose “ . Not good enough , as loss is 2 valuable competition points that cannot be replace . They must make every post a winner and the only way to do this is to give this and each game their very best efforts .

A lot of people are judging players solely based on previous form (and not arguing that) which stemmed from the previous 'coaching' regime and its style of play.

To be fair, we have to allow ALL players some leeway under the new coaches and their structures (even Merrin and Williame apparantely). The stain that was inground in us wont be cleansed in the short term, so I believe a clean slate is the only way forward.

Our big problem is our forward pack so, if they do not dominate our halves have no chance to shine and our young backs will be on the back foot all game. Let's hope that our pack is all fired up ready to go.

Agree w you wholeheartedly but no such thing now as low scoring games w the new rules and the tiring factor of teams defending repetitively off the back of the ruck infringement penalties. Dragons 32-24
