It's all effort in defence. He was fine for the finals last yearHe seems to get a bit lost and gets brushed off a bit easily.
I watched him closely. His attack was sublime
He wasn't right playing Garner in the centres. Come onIvan got it right. Tough for some to accept, granted they know better, but the coach got it right.
There are definitely times when he doesn’t seem to be connected to Cleary, but Cleary makes some odd decisions in defence at times. He seems to get a bit lost and gets brushed off a bit easily.

Centre who can cover wing is handy if you've got Garner on the bench.Alamoti looked a little fitter and quicker off the mark as well. I think he is in for a huge season. Do you prefer him on wing or centre?
Having Too and Alamoti carting it back is a great start to the sets.
Within the rules it's a try 100% but I don't want it to beBe interesting to see how Graham Annessly goes on the Nathan Cleary no try.
The commentators all agreed it should have been a try. Having watched the replay there was no lost ball, no knock on, Will Kennedy clearly played at the ball. Makes no difference now, but be interesting to see Annesleys take.

What I mean by tough gig is finding someone with the broad skill set we would ideally want.
Agree that the 14 is an insurance policy you hope you don’t collect on. Today we had to, and we were glad we had it in place.
Indeed.
I said it earlier. We don't have Luai anymore. Some evolution is required.
I want almost no passing from Dyl hahaI mentioned it in the rumours thread re Smith and Henry but you can work through most of the pack, hell even centres and you struggle to find anyone that has shown a passing game.
Edwards has shown a bit, so expanding on that is key

It's like the rule of what's a dropped catch in cricket where sometimes everyone who's played would say it's a catch but the ruling is it's touched the ground between the fingers so is a drop.It doesn't pass the pub test, but the interpretation has been very consistent since they brought the rule in: dislodging the ball in a try scoring situation goes against the attacking team.
If the exact same thing happened on the halfway line it would have been play on, 6 more tackles.
Glad it didn't cost us the game.
