After seeing the increased pace of last nights game, resulting from the rule changes, I really think Granville needs to be on the bench. His speed from dummy half would be invaluable

Who needs a nippy Glanville when you have Kennedy, Hannant, Hala, Wallace and Lowrie?

I'm tipping Griffin gone by round 7.

In my opinion Griffin messed up with a few selections for tonight's game but I'm happy to see how Macca goes as an 80 min player. Over the last few years every fan has been saying that Macca should be an 80 minute player and the rhythm of the team gets messed up when he goes off. But now he has not picked a hooker on the bench and people still aren't happy.

Ps I have a sneaky suspicion that Glenn will spend 10-15 mins at hooker while Macca gets a rest.

McCullough can have a year where he starts making a claim for Smith's Origin spot when it comes time for Smith to retire (or is injured). It took a while for me to warm him as I thought he was running a little too much with the ball though I saw him picking his spots better last season.

Honestly, Macca is not origin quality, would take some massive improvement at club level to replace Smith and keep QLD winning for him to get the gig. Ballin and Friend are ahead of him.

I've never had a problem with Macca not playing 80 min. I don't think its necessary of every hooker to do so. However I've felt in the past, Griffin has chosen the wrong time to take him off. Often taking him off when he's got the team on a role and is playing out of his boots.

I would like to see us make use of an effective hooker rotation, that's something the Broncos have been behind in - a real spark off the bench with lots of pace to put the opposition under pressure.

No, he ain't just yet though if he improves like he did last season; who knows.

A better than expected first half from the boys. I think we are looking better than we perhaps are right now if only because the Doggies are out of sorts here. They have little direction in attack.

1. Corey Parker off after 20 minutes. Concern? I want our captain out there for 80 minutes.

2. Our star fullback made immediate impact. Looks sharp. Clever kick to set up the opening try to Copley.

3. Hoffman isn't our answer at 6 and please, don't let him kick the ball. I'd like to see Kodi Nikorima at 6 with Hoffman on Maranta's wing.

4. Forwards look good.

5. I liked our defence though again the Doggies our helping our cause. We are up and in their face not allowing much breathing space. It's good to see.

6. Ben Hunt. Hmm...

I never thought I'd say this, but Maranta was great tonight. The right hand side with him and Copley was good in defence and Copley made some great runs as well.

Josh Hoffman and Jack Reed both need to learn to pass the ball.

Hats off to Maranta.. he actually did OK.

However, Hoffman needs to go. If he thinks he is too good for the wing he can go play for someone else.

Hoffman doesn't want to be at the club, not sure you'll get the best out of him this year if he stays

Maranta back to his scintillating 2012 form.

Not really but he played very well tonight. Copley looks like he will have a great year if he can maintain his place. Vidot's size was an absolute asset, back to the Sailor and Tuqiri days.

Our attack is still poor but Barba gave us so many options we didn't have last season and we capitalised on that. Definitely need a 3rd kicker though.

i was happy we won but Hoffman at number 6 is 100 times worse then Wallace.
Hunt wasn't anything special either, need Barba at 6, he is the only one with an idea how to play attacking football

3 Barba
2 maranta
1 Parker

Maranta never put a foot wrong out there and good to see a bit of Barba magic as well. Copley tried his guts out all night and Vidot had a strong one and was a standout most of the night. Most of the guys never gave up out there and overall a solid performance with only our kicking options and shutting down second plays a worry.
Great to see the boys get a win with our first one. Cowboys will be a cracker.
