Five days to go, about time we had a discussion thread.

I read in the Sunday Mail we had an opposed session against Ipswich. Reed was playing left wing, and Copely left centre. Vidot and Maranta swapping in and out of right wing.

I think Souths will win this.

Their forwards are still a class above, Reynolds and Luke look to be in great form. Milford and Hunt still have a ways to go judging by the WCC game.

Tough to have to play these guys straight up but someone has too.

Souths by 12+

We won't be steamrolled through through the middle like last year, our forwards look like they can hold their own a bit more. But watching the WCC you can see that Maguire has that Souths team running like a well oiled machine. Set plays are crisp and accurate, getting out of their own half efficiently and Reynolds kicking game is top notch.

We will improve quickly through the year thats for sure, Souths just look like their ready to continue on from last year without missing a step, broncos have a fair few kinks to iron out yet.

I think Bennett will go with Maranta on the wing, and a backup dummy half off the bench. I expect a surprise in that department ... we'll see.

I just hope we get our kicking game on the 5th sorted. Something we had trouble with all last year and wasn't much better against the poms last week.

Looks like Hodgy might be fullback in attack. If so, I like it!

In other news Copley and Reed may switch centre, with Copley in attack and Reed in defence.

Soon we might have a different "attack" team and "defend" team :p

JUSTIN Hodges will be Brisbane’s fullback after all as Wayne Bennett unveils a rotation policy for the Broncos.

Hodges will be fullback in attack, right centre in defence, with Jordan Kahu to play fullback in defence and right centre in attack.

The ploy allows Brisbane to get the best out of Hodges’ body which struggles to cope with the running required of a full-time custodian.

The rotation policy will be first tested against South Sydney on Thursday night in a Suncorp Stadium blockbuster that will attract around 45,000 people.

Dale Copley will also interchange between left centre and left wing this season, with Jack Reed expected to defend at centre and attack on the wing during games.

Swap Whitchurch for Nikorima, Wallace for Gillett and Reed and Vidot around and I would say you are pretty well spot on otherwise. Would like to see Ofahengaue instead of Dodds, but don't think that will happen.

Do you go for souths or broncos mate?

Jesus mate if you go for broncos then go for broncos every game and go in to every game expecting to win it not settle for a lose otherwise go support souths.

Wow ... didn't expect that.

I'm a bit conflicted with Hodges at fullback. When he played there last year, a couple of games he overplayed his hand, and in one game, cost us the game because he ended up stifling our attack. Mind you, in the same game he shows some absolute brilliant from fullback.

But of course, Bennett will but a little more prescriptive with his coaching than Griffin and give Hodges some stiffer guidelines.

Good news about Copley and Reed on the left.

Hodges fullback in attack is good. Kahu not much of a ball player. This will make us a much more dangerous team

I know you're partially geniused so you may not understand.

I'm not settling for a loss, and I hope we win. But it's actually summing up the situation and calling things how I see them.

Vidot was one of our best metre makers last year. Always took first hit up after a kick and made good metres. Disappointing to see Maranta ahead of him in the pecking order.

No comment. I've said enough.

However ... I did notice Maranta actually broke a tackle or two in the English game, but will still need to improve greatly to match Vidot.

How in the blue moon is Maranta playing, tell me this is some sick joke.

Also why on earth is Copley not a centre, please tell me!

Get on Souths 13+ if Maranta plays.

I must be in a good mood today, cause I don't really mind the Maranta thing.

I wonder if Hodges gets any say in who plays on that wing.
