Saints have improved imo. Last year this time Saints won 1 game more but only scored 164 points and leaked 234 against (-70) to sit 13th. The losses they had were mostly 20+ bar the Sharks game were they lost 20-10 but Saints were very ordinary and Sharks looked like they were having a training run.

This year they have scored 184 (20pts more) without our so called super stars in Hunt and Lomax and more importantly leaked 198 points 36 less currently on -14 to sit 10th. That is a 54 pts improvement. And this includes a win against the Storm. They could easily be on 14 pts equal with 2nd place if not for some lapses in play. Hopefully those games can be used as learning and experience.

I am not feeling confident this week but it is at WIN and their record there is pretty solid hence why they should play more games there. I live closer to Kogarah but if it means winning games take them to WIN for sure. If they can knock the Warriors off this week they play a Broncos team that as we saw against the last placed Panthers can have a shocker in them. Ezra Mam may return next week which will add some extra pressure on them.

If Saints can knock off both Warriors and Bronco's, this could be the tonic to changing their season and giving them confidence to excel and play themselves into a finls series. Especially if LKT and Tonga have good games. That will be 5 juniors starting their seasons off to replace has these old hasbeens we are used to seeing continually not play to NRL standard. I hope Tonga has a cracking debut. If he does this only points to a very positive future for the Dragons.

Having Cook has been a great signing however I don't feel he is being used properly. He is a great signing as I would prefer the hooker rotation to be Cook and Liddle rather than Liddle and Mulheisen. Definitely an upgrade to Mulheisen. Good player Mul but not an NRL player for me just a very good Cup player. All Flanno needs to do is get the balance right and give Liddle more time.

Are you replying to yourself in the positive from your many accounts. I'm Hornby, KingFlanno7, Saintmar........all one and the same. All deathriding Flanno in the hope Dean Young becomes Head Coach. All these accounts only show themselves after losses and all obsessed with blaming Flanno for everything bad. Never give credit for anything good. Broken recored....ad nauseum. Every post is about the same bxllshit
Yes, you got me.

Your man Fraudagan is doing such a bang up job as coach that it would be impossible that three different strangers on the internet would all share similar yet ridiculously ignorant critiques of the master coach's ability.

I'm sure you wouldn't find any other Dragons fan out there who believes and says anything remotely similar to myself, KF7 and saintmar.

As you were mate, please keep up your apologist antics and back the inept coach in for as long as you please.

“2-3 seasons is plenty of time and I would also remind that you no one on the forum suggested Flanagan needed more time than this from the beginning, nor should they now.”

There it is 2/3 seasons is enough , I agree but you want him punted now. You are death riding him and the club. Guess what if he is unsuccessful it will be another 3/4 years at least before we have any success.

Get a room you two !!

If it's any consolation, as a Warriors fan - a lot of these comments are very familiar.

We are in a purple patch at the moment, but that is very very rare for us as you probably already know (only made the finals series twice since our last grand final in 2011), and we too have a knack of getting the knives out for our coaches when things aren't working (including Webster pretty early on last year about his selections/bench use even after the golden run of 2023).

Can never underestimate the Dragons, you've historically been the bogiest of teams for us along with Manly, hell one of my most miserable live experiences was seeing Dragons annihilate us 36-0 in horizontal rain here in Wellington hah!

Good luck for the weekend, I reckon it'll be close whichever way the final result goes.

How many beltings did we cop last year? I think it was 3 by this time. The losses against ordinary teams was more of VERY poor game management . Though be happy we were in a position to win! YES we didn’t win & should have though school boys errors
Not sure how that’s a coaches problem.
Sua hasn’t improved under Flanno!! Please!! He f**king made origin after years absence.
Sloan’s defence HAS improved besides the weekend.
Coaching staff have even admitted themselves that they still haven’t found the perfect combo for liddle + cook yet! Though I think on the weekend when it was a direct swap it worked well! So let’s see what happens.

Agree, we are a much better team than last year, especially in attack, though that is purely due to Gutho+Holmes.. the rest is much the same.

The problem is the Dragons dont exist in isolation... most of the other teams improved too, some of them dramatically like the Tigers, Raiders, Warriors.. I think this is mostly a roster problem, but you cant fix that quickly sadly.. the mistakes of 6-12-18mths ago is what leads us to this point.. we have the money for that 1million dollar prop but we didnt go hard enough for the ones who came onto the market when they were available.. were not going to win on that deal.. we need to accept that.

I will say that although some of Flannos decisions lately have been disappointing, but we probably need to extend him at some stage.. I dont think we will find anyone better (he is one of the top 10 coaches going around I reckon), but I dont want him making short-term decisions in line with his tenure.. I want him thinking longer term, especially with junior retention.

That said everything comes back to wins and losses, and we need to arrest the losing streak this weekend.

Couldn't bt Parra Tigers and Souths when given so many chances
Manly we were lucky to wiin as we were all over them only just won.
Titans got hammered bt by many teams.
The only real great effort was v Storm and even then they had a few tries disallowed.

I agree that Flano needs to know he'll get the time he needs to sort us out. I think his blooding of young players is good (such a shame that RCouch went down in Rd 1).

The Wahs won't be easy to beat but we need to see the effort and improved execution. Handing the ball over and not icing opportunities are killers.

We could get the spoon this year and some of you would still say he gets a pass. Why can't we beat the warriors? If Flanno can't get us winning why should we give him longer it makes no sense.

Im looking forward to the rage meter this week and next post game

will it be off the charts and taper as the week progresses ........or a little subtle....because of a win ?

lol

or could it full Joker Dark Knight ?

You wanna know how I got these scars? My father, was a drinker, and a fiend. And one night, he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me and says, "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife. "WHY SO SERIOUS?" He sticks the blade in my mouth... "Let's put a smile on that face." And.......

and ?

Have you actually looked at Ramsey? He’s VERY skinny. Would get slaughtered in first grade at his current weight. It would be irresponsible to even consider him.
I really hope he gets back to the NRL but it’s highly unlikely it will happen in 2025.
Hopefully a full year of NSW cup under his belt and a good preseason and he’ll be pushing for selection in ‘26.
Funny- no one suggests Jaidyn Campbell not play NRL for the Gold Coast and he is about the same height and weight (6 feet and 80 Kgs) as Ramsay is now. Ramsay was 90 kgs before his illness.

Ramsey is different to Campbell though, Campbell is a healthy adult man.... but Cody is missing a huge chunk of his digestive system, and he cant absorb his food properly.. so he cant retain a healthy weight or energy levels, hes in new territory trying to keep it going week to week.. at any point that might stop, and im not sure who they have planned as the backup plan tbh.. maybe BRumble.... but Cody has done brilliantly this year ill grant you, but i dont think anyone at the club is expecting him to go further... Flanno was pretty blunt in an interview a while back.
