Round 10 Vs Newcastle

Don't know what to make of the Knights this year. The praise they've gotten while being pummeled in several games this year led me to see them as overrated, understandable given how rough their last few years were. They've hung in well considering they've lost Pearce though and Ponga is a genuine piece of class.

Well have to be there to play of course, but there's no reason to think we won't be. We haven't been blown away in any of our losses so if we're consistent in showing up for this one I think we've got a bit too much class, even with players out.

Like every one else, very interested to see how we line up and agree with those who think this would be a perfect to see how Luai.l handles first grade. Early season after a good start one game before Cleary returns, a position we'll need to cover during Origin and up against a workmanlike pack. I trust Hooks timing when it comes to blooding youngsters and I think he'd be on a winner here. Reckon the members email touting a debutant in this game is a bit of a giveaway too ;).

You got an email? I need to check that thing once in a while lol.

Thanks mate. I'll have a look. Really excited for Luai to get a run but hearing Yeo is good ranks just a bit higher. It'd be just weird not having Yeo in the team. I'd miss him and so would the team I suspect.

General maintenance will probably see all the backrow get a rest at some stage. Will be great to actually be able to do such things if injuries clear up

If Lui Toso plays he would be a debutant aswell. And we've named Luai to debut before and decided to drop him

Seems a ridiculous time to debut him... the week before Cleary comes back. Should have happened when we first named him.

We have to be mindful that there has been an upset or two every week,so touch wood we are not one of those stats, and Newcastle at home with an improved and resiliant squad is not to be taken lightly.

So I guess it's another one of those matches were either Newcastle gets us by 2,or we win by a healthy margin. It would be great if we could give our %'s a kick in the rear.

ISP is the best place for May needs atleast a week to get back to speed. If that is our bench it is small. I heard Luai was only going to play if Yeo or Kikau didn't
Could likely be Luai to 6,Peach to centre & Yeo to 2nd row with CHN to bench

You could and that makes sense except Cleary comesback next week. Makes no sense to break up the spine and Yeo said he and Maloney have been working on defence. Again makes no sense if he is moving to the other side of the field.

CHN has done an outstanding job filling in at centre. Doubt he will be moved this week.

If anything maybe Luai to 6 and Peach to the bench. He covers more positions from there.

That mKes sense. We are likely to need Luai at least once due to origin or injuries. Might as well give him a go and let Peachey have a breather. He can be pretty handy coming on later in the game.

Maybe Luia gets a taste of FG the last 15 minutes off the bench?

And we know that Hook (and perhaps Yeo) doesn't play mind games, don't we? :)

Maybe Luai does come on with 15 to go in the 2nd half to closely mark Ponga when our forwards start to get a bit lax out wide. Would like to see him come on with 25 to go to give him a few opportunities to cut loose with the ball.
