We went from going into round four without Cleary for the next ten weeks thinking our season was done to getting him back when we're 2nd. How amazing is this team's mentality.

And how shit is the standard of footy this year?

There are about 6 decent teams and our depleted side is one of them. So many teams failing to live upto the hype.Cowboys easily top that category. From grand finalists to spoon contenders.

Maloney and Dallin's faces were victims of the Newcastle breeze. It's pretty intense this time of the year.

I was at the game, it was freezing cold, and there was a horrible breeze ripping through the stadium. There was no atmosphere at all, and it had the feel that everyone including players just wanted to go home and get warm.
The boys defended their way to a win, the contact from JFH, CHN and Kikau had the knights rattled for most of the game.
I thought JFH was our best.
When he tackles someone they are stopped in their tracks, he must be the best defender in the game at the moment, you can hear 80% of his tackles from the other side of the field.
He missed a few of the fast guys but anytime a knights forward touched the ball he let them know he owned the middle.

Bad to watch? We have 14 players out & we stuck it to a team many expected to walk over us when they got some ball.

I think people need to have realistic expectations. Any win is a good performance considering our current situation.

Our side has a ton of heart, it’s great to watch.

Some people just have to whinge. Yeo, Kikau and Merrin played busted. Wallace and Maloney blood on their face.

No Edwards, Mansour, Blake or Cleary. It was never going to be pretty but we have a 5-2 record without our halfback. How many other teams could do that

Pretty shit but I don't care. Just want to take full advantage which we can do when we get some of our best players back from injury.

He looks like had a good step and more than anything brought much-needed energy to the team after we had done a lot of defending. He was surprisingly strong in defence. Didn't get much of a chance to show what he had in attack, sort of reminded me of Peachey r.e. just stepping around looking for options and not really going anywhere but you can see he has potential. That was my view at least.

Wow the first time I have seen a truly honest no agenda post from you in a while. This is the truth. Newcastle could have easily won that game on the back of some execution that was off. They get that right and we would have lost to a team missing their biggest star, and a team roster that is still poor to mediocre at best.

You can say that about two of our losses this year in different ways.

If Tamou makes a simple tackle in the second half they don’t come close.

With so many players out we are going to look clunky, look at the bench we started with. Tamou plus 3 guys who have played f**k all nrl games. Half the spines out. Half our back line is out. Any win with a team like that is a good win.

Even you said it wasn't pretty. Yet are calling people whingers for saying the same thing. Saying it was a poor quality game isn't the same as having a go at our team and people shouldn't let their bias against certain commenters effect their reading comprehension.
