Only thing that gives me less joy is watching him play this year.

It’s all very well us keyboard warriors paying out on Josh Mansour when he is down on form and confidence but let’s not forget the loyalty he showed to this club, his status in better times as a fan favourite, Australian & NSW representative and an absolute powerhouse before his knee and jaw injury. Forgive me for being a tad sentimental given how good Josh has been for our club.

Absolutely. My post came across more sarcastically than intended.

I'm sad we had to drop him. I'm devastated that an ACL and a horrible facial injury has reduced one of my favorite players of the last decade to the point that it's the only option.

And everyone hopes he manages to get back into 1st grade.

But, at the moment, he’s not playing well enough to be in the 1st grade team.

I’m not having a go at you mate. Just making the point us fans in general are so fickle, one minute your the flavour of the month and the next your being ‘hated’ upon on forums such as these.

Fan forums are interesting. As an example I support Manchester United having lived there many years ago as a boy. There main fan forum is called the Red Cafe. I follow it, read it but don’t post on it. We’ve got nothing on here in terms of negativity when you read some of the vitriol and hate that is posted on there, trust me we are choir boys compared to the majority on there.

Hopefully Sauce bounces back - great guy & played tough for the team.

Away from our NRL side for a minute can anyone tell me the logic behind selecting Dane Laurie at 5/8 in our NSW Cup side. We recently resigned him for a couple of seasons and he has been an electrifying fullback coming thru our junior ranks so what is our forward planning? Is it to toughen him up defensively? Do we see something in him such as the Ponga experiment in the halves? Do we not have any halves in NSW Cup so it is out of necessity? I just don’t quite get the logic.

I was wondering the same thing.
I guess they cant move Edwards/ Aekins to accommodate him.

Develop ball playing skills.

Some odd decisions, but some good ones too.

Too will be a good addition. If he has safe hands then his size will be a massive bonus. Edwards shouldn't have been given his opportunity but he has got it now, hope he kills it.

Laurie in 5/8th is good. Gets defence better and ensures he gets a chance to ball play.

As for Mansour no one wishes bad on him but we are in the business of winning footy games. We sit 1/3 of the way through the season and he has been horrible.

A few weeks down there might be all he needs to get some form

I sense with Mansour that the broken cheekbone killed his confidence, and he was never that great under the high ball to begin with. I’m not sure he’ll ever get that confidence back.

I just went WTF! Political decision. I must be seen to make changes. Muppet.

Cleary gets bagged out for not making changes, and now gets bagged when he does make changes.

I think good on him for making some tough calls, and hopefully this gets the rest of the team fired up for a better performance.

Would he want to learn playing centre in reserves though? Or look for a club that wants him as a fullback?

He might not find a club that wants him as a fullback outside of a depth signing, he has been solid but not really done anything. Agree that it is harsh dropping him.

I think he could make a pretty good winger, he is no slower than Sauce and better at just about everything. Let him push Dallin into the centres perhaps if Too goes well.
