Just a warning to everyone not to get to excited by many changes to the team next week after all this is the same coach who came out last year and said he doesn't care how bad Ben Hunt plays he will be picked in the starting 13 every week ...yep the guys must be terrified of getting the axe after hearing that.

Drop Hunt and replace him with whom exactly? Nicholls?

Good one.

Ben will be ok. What we’re seeing with him is a bloke with all the weight on his shoulders without Widdop and/or Norman next to him.

He has to do it all and is simply being overwhelmed by too much responsibility.

It’s no different to what Widdop encountered between 2014-17.

Give him a break.

Hunt will be better with Norman back.

I expect Mary to reinstate Aitken. lol

Fullback will be interesting, will Mary go with Dufty, Lomax or Field?

Personally I would be picking

1 Field
2 Pearson (still unseen)
3 Lomax
4 Lafai
5 Perirera
6 Norman (if fit)
7 Hunt
13 Leilua
12 Frizell
11 T Sims
10 Vaughan
9 McInnes
8 Graham

14 Robson
15 Timm
16 Lawrie
17 K Sims

I thought Field has handled first grade well over the last 2 weeks.
Leilua looks to be developing in the middle.
I am wondering if T Sims is carrying an injury. His form has been down from last year.
I would like to see Tim get a run off the bench.

Ford could be one to push for a run in the second half of the season?

you've completely missed the point I'm not suggesting Hunt should be dropped at all.

I'm merely pointing out that Mary clearly has his favourites and won't drop them regardless of how they perform.

A good coach would drop/replace players no matter there marquee if they are not performing I remember when Bellamy dropped Slater to reserve grade. Again I am not suggesting Hunt be dropped not at all but assuring players they will get picked regardless is very silly and creates complacency.

Dunno what you're all crapping on about. MacGregor has threatened changes, he wont actually make any.
I'm tipping the only thing that will change are the excuses!
After 4 consecutive losses it equals Mary's previous 2016 record. He certainly is accumulating plenty of records worthy of a career coach Not!

This.
Even our website states: "Frustrated McGregor WARNS of changes". Warns of not will make etc.
Soft as a 1 min boiled egg.

If he makes any changes, and as others have already said it would be Dufty, Rava and Host out. So dont hold your breathe. There is also some word that Saab might play, which would mean an elevation fron the DS. Who knows what is going on it that mind of his (i doubt he knows either)
The only near certain change would be K. Sims back into the team.
The rest us dart board stuff for our supercoach.

I'd say Field will play at 6 again this week.
Lomax will replace Dufty.
Aitken will return to 3 but show us again/still how unsuitable he is for that position.
Pereira is a left winger 2 and Pearson will play at 5.
Timm, Kerr and Ford should come into the side along with K Sims and Robson.
T Sims is injured and needs to recover.
McInnes and James needs a rest.
1. Lomax
2. Pereira
3. Masters
4. Lafai
5. Pearson
6. Field
7. Hunt
8. Timm
9. Robson
10. Vaughan
11. Leilua
12. K Sims
13. Frizell

14. Kerr
15. Lawrie
16. Ford
17. Aitken.

No idea why I'm seeing suggestions Hunt should be dropped. He's among the top 4 or 5 players even in losing teams lol.

His defensive urgency is a highlight
All our good stuff comes from him.
Without Gareth or Corey he gets absolutely NO help whatsoever from the rest of the spine.
I'd like to see McInnes do more running & kick out of dummy half.Having a dummy half that kicks is a real bonus.Dufty hasn't shown that he has a kicking game as well.
You're correct re his defence.

If McGenius follows through on his threat with changes, I think the following has to be done.

Dufty out - Lomax to fullback
Ravalawa out - Pearson to right wing
K.Sims to lock - Lawrie to the bench
Aitken to right centre only because the other option is Maranta

Team list would then be:
1. Lomax
2. Periera
3. Aitken
4. Lafai
5. Pearson
6. Field (Norman if fit)
7. Hunt
8. Graham
9. McInnes
10. Vaughan
11. Frizell
12. T. Sims
13. K. Sims

14. Lawrie
15. Kerr
16. Leilua
17. Field if Norman fit otherwise Timm

Latimore is out with injury.

Nailed it.

I hope...

Yep people have plenty of ideas regarding who to drop but not many solutions about who to promote. Presumably one ‘solution’ would be to pair Norman, provided he is fit, with Field. Seem to remember the Knights targeting Field all game and while Jai tried hard, he made no line breaks, seldom ran and did not direct the team round the park. If Hunt is to go who exactly will replace him as halfback?

Team list announcement today will surprise a lot of people.

In a good way.

I was pleased to see Kerr picked last week but boy he has a long way to go. Unfortunately it is tough on a player when they are promoted into a team that is playing poorly. If Kerr was promoted into a pack that was holding its own, he could develop slowly and feel confidence in those around him. With Korbin and JDB out of our lineup Kerr and others need to hit the ground running. I don’t think Kerr and Timms are up to that yet and they obviously will not be buoyed by the level of confidence in the team.
