Would love to see Mullens stats vs this time last year. For all the 5/8 is his best spot talk his what, 2 try assists this season would suggest he's really not any better there than at 7. His kicking and passing game has disappeared. Yea he looks more dangerous running the ball but its at the expense of Uate, Tahu, Jimmy etc getting any quality ball.

Until we get someone whose not shit to play 7, Mullen should be there.

Bennett's greatest achievement is getting that Dragon's side to win a comp. Absolute miracle.

This side is possibly one of the most mundane, soft, devoid of skill, unenthusiastic and heartless that I have seen come out of Newcastle. It is embarrassing watching some of that squad run around. They look slow and weak. The lack of skill is quite astounding. The fact that a 32 year old ex NRL player who hasn't played for 2 years or so actually holds his own in this team is proof this mob are possibly spoon bound.
Shows how little you know about the Dragons from '09 to'11. He probably didn't realise it but coach Bennett virtually won lotto when he took over that side. In large part thanks to Nathan Brown. Bennett did recognise that fact. The inclusion of Jeremy Smith, Costigan and Gasnier helped.

Utter bullshit. That team has gone backwards since then. Can't blame that on three players. Bennett's greatest ever triumph was getting that pathetic group with Costigan at prop, Hornby at half and the blithering mess that no one wanted - Jamie Soward - a Premiership ring. Make no mistake about. You obviously had an over inflated view of the talent your club had.

You hadn't won a comp for thirty two years you goose!

That is Bennett's greatest achievement by far.

You must believe Steve Price could have walked in at the same time Bennett did and won a comp with that lot then?

Your obvious hatred of the club clouds your view. That's your choice. No, Price won't win a comp with that team. Yes, the Dragons have slipped since 2010. Saffy, Smith Gaz, Costigan, 9 players left in 2011. Hornby, Cooper, Young are aging players. It wasn't only Bennett who got Soward to play to his potential, Sailor was important as well. The Dragons are a very disciplined team with intelligent leaders as was the case in 2010. That team was ready to win a comp. You underestimate the bond and motivation those Illawarra juniors possessed. Still, you have the inside story.

Not what I said.

Zero hatred of the club. There was a perception for years they had this god given right to win a comp due to perceived above average ability. That was what was perpetuated by the media and believed by fans. Do I agree. No. I saw a team with some good players whose short comings were blamed on the lack of a good coach - year in, year out.

Bennett's greatest achievement is lifting that group and club to a comp win.

Geez we are hard to watch at the moment, spending more time on my supercoach team each week then reading up on/watching my team etc etc

Anyway here's Bennett's press conference with Houston:

Oh a try for Roberts but please people don't let that blind you to the fact that Roberts is utter garbage who makes Dureau look like Ricky Stuart when it comes to creativity.

And he can't kick for shit. Naiqama can at leats kick goals - is Sau really offering us so much more than Naiqama that we are willing to go in with Roberts as first choice GK?

Dureau could kick too! I remember him kicking 5/5 once, almost all from the sideline! So then Dureau = El Masri in the kicking department!

One thing, when McKinnon got the intercept, he was run down in about 10 metres it seemed.

I though he was quicker than that, particularly as he made his debut in the centres.

McKinnon just keeps growing, by the looks of things. he's only just turned 20 in Feb. he's going to be an absolute monster. clearly has no pace anymore.

Never really had any tbh. He was very slow for a centre and was really only selected there for the Dragons due to his size

Can't say McKinnon has endeared me to him this year at all. Whilst he does have size i question how strong he is because like Edwards he seems to hit the line and instantly drop like a sack of spuds. And it's not trying to get a quick play the ball, it's dropping and getting bent/rolled over onto his back.

He and Edwards really struggle to make 25cm past the advantage line. Only time i see them do so is off a good Mason/Snowden hitup/PTB.

Eddy is 3 or 4 years older than McKinnon and has probably done most of his growing. McKinnon hasn't filled out yet. I reckon he's gonna turn out an absolute beast when that frame fills out a bit more. he's doing pretty well for a 20 year old in his first year of first grade in the forwards. not super exciting, but probably doesn't have the winning culture and support around him to play at his best at the moment as a young kid new to grade.
