3. Josh Hoffman
2. Ben Te'o
1. Peter Wallace

Very happy with the result, Shark Park has always been a difficult venue to win in and the conditions certainly favoured the Sharks. For mine the result came off the back of some big defensive plays from the likes of Hoffman, Lockyer and Gillett combined with a sensible effort from our forwards and our halves.

Not a brilliant performance but one that every fan in here should be content with.

Other positives I wanted to mention...
- Thought Winterstein, Wallace and Sims all played their best game this season. The former two will do well to build off of it and Sims hopefully keeps pressure on our front row by starring in the QCup.

- McCullough looked to of been struggling a bit out there, he'll only get better. Was also good to see Gillett bounce back after a disappointing first half, that try saver was awesome and he did well to run 70 odd metres.

- Speaking of important tackles, I thought Dodds came up with a few in the first half.

- Folau's try was fantastic, brilliant effort to fight his way to the line and plant the ball down.

Off to Brookie we go!

Folau is dead set the hardest player in the comp to hold up over the line. Super-human strength, hands like shovels and puts it down with force.

Solid win, Sharks would have beaten a lot of teams on Saturday night I think.

Call me crazy, but I actually think we have a chance to go pretty far in the competition this year. We were written off early, and we probably have gotten worse compared to last year, but there is usually a team that gets a late run on, and with Hodges coming back, I think we can do it.

Also this year, without the Storm especially, a lot of the other teams are pretty average as well (apart from Saints), and I think we could definitely beat anyone in the comp on our day. If you look at our team, we still have Folau, Lockyer, Wallace, Kenny, Thaiday, Parker, Te'o, Hodges. Most of the other teams in the comp would kill to have that sort of class and experience. Plus there's Gillett and Hoffman who are looking better every game.

So is Glenn playing in the back row at times??

IMO the best game he had was against us when he was playing a running forward role on the edges....

I realise a lot of his players are quite versatile but Henjak wont let them settle down!

Glenn, Gillett and to a lesser extent Teo all seem to be switching between backrow and centre.

I guess it might help them play more minutes, but I'm not a big fan of all the rotating.

I may stand corrected but glenn has played most of his football in the centres. One of the first games i saw him play was for burliegh as a centre then he moved to the broncos nyc and played backrow. Now he's considered as a utility as he has been playing hooker as well. But long term he could be our left centre as we don't really have a genuine left centres ready for nrl. History has showed we have played backrowers as centres before glenn, gillett and teo for example stagg and carroll so the precedent was set then and not now.

Good to see someone else rate Wallace's performance. He's copped a bit of a bagging but I also thought he performed admirably and will only improve from here.

I didn't think Wallace was that good tbh, he did a couple of good things (like the inside ball that led to Lockyer's try), but on a number of times in attack he looked lost. I don't know if you can blame the ball runners or what.. but hes not all there IMO, which is understandable with the injuries he has had.

I disagree.

I thought he looked dangerous with the ball in hand and challenged the Sharks on a number of occasions. His kicking game for the large part was good and his passing game was crisper than what I've seen all year.

What about when he was at first receiver and ran behind a runner and gove away a penalty? I can't remember if it was the runners fault or his, but he seemed lost to me.

Yes I recall that but I didn't think that was his fault rather the fault of the outside runner who mistimed his run. Wallace should've dived though, certainly no excuses there.

I understand why you feel the way you do, but I myself was impressed by his game. I thought the kicking game by both he and Locky proved to be an important element to the Broncos success on Saturday and Wallace piped Lockyer because I thought Wallace lead the side better based on my initial viewing.

I tend to agree with those that think that Wallace had a lesser game. I do think he looked a bit lost on the paddock and nowhere near his potential.
He will need to lift at Brookvale and hopefully be injury free.
