Posting this early, but with the injuries to Graham and Lafai and SOO representation with Friz Vaughan and Hunt, I'm wondering what team we will roll out.

Unfortunately, Lats will come in for Graham, McGregor has already made that inference.
Left centre is going to he an issue (so is right centre but thats another story).
With Nornan coming back does he slot into 5/8 or, given our centre issue, play him at fullback or even centre? I'd really like to keep Lomax at fullback.
So, I'd go with:
1. Lomax
2. Periera
3. Aitken (oh my!)
4 Norman
5. Pearson
6. Field
7. Hunt*
8. Timm
9. McInnes
10. Vaughan
11. Friz*
12. T. Sims
13. Lawrie
14. K. Sims
15. Leilua
16. Robson
17. Kerr

Hear what your saying but the temptation to play field at FB who can ball play and short kick may be too great

Our backs depth is a real worry.
Field only position is 5/8 so if you leave him there it's Norman centre or FB and Zac the other.
But Hunt needs help in the halfs so it's Norman 5/8, that means Dufty back and Lomax centre.
I would like to see Timm in but you know Mary will go Lats

Yeah I am worried about this team could look like this;

1. Dufty
2. Pereira
3. Aitken
4. Lomax
5. Pearson.
6. Norman
7. Field
8. Latimore
9. McInnes
10. Host
11. Sims
12. Leilua
13. Lawrie

14. Kerr
15. Robson
16. Allgood
17. Timm

This squad is based on the assumption players are rested after SOO but they probably won't be Mary will flog them and wonder why we have injuries and the team is tired.

St George Illawarra can provide the following injury updates on Dragons duo James Graham and Tim Lafai.

Follow up scans with Graham on Monday have revealed the England international has suffered a fibula fracture. The estimated return to play will be approximately eight weeks post-injury.

Scans have confirmed Lafai suffered an injury to his syndesmosis; however further meetings and discussions with specialists on Tuesday are required to determine the course of action and prognosis.

The Dragons will provide a further update on Lafai in due course.

Graham and Lafai were both injured in the first half of the Dragons' 22-9 loss to the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks on Sunday afternoon.

With the injuries to Lafai & Graham I expect to see and here this from coach
Dufty 1
Lomax 3
Aitken 4
Norman 6
Field 14
Latimore 8
We sent Matt back to CC for a couple of weeks so he could learn he has to do more to earn his 1st grade spot and the break will have done him the world of good and we know he is keen to show us what he has learned
Euan is actually a natural left centre and we always wanted to play him there but due to having Tim in the squad we aren’t able to do that so we will lose nothing by doing it and actually EA will be all the better for playing on his natural side
Zac did well at FB but we see that as only a temporary situation with his long term future being in the centres, so the injury to Tim has just hastened that a bit.
As soon as Norman is right he will be 6 as we were doing well with him there and have really missed his skills so Jai will go to 14 as our impact player and with Lats coming back he will stiffen up the middle and unluckily Robinson (lol) will go back to CC but no doubt will get another chance soon.

Spot on
I think Dufty will be told on the weekend to show his commitment if he wants back in. Big game needed from him in CC

I don't think it matters who McGoose picks in the 17 as we are in a world of trouble & lack confidence. I expect the Dogs will blow us off the park this time around, just like last season. They have some youthful speed & enthusiasm and seem to play an expansive attacking style. When it sticks it can be dangerous & you can guarantee it will all come together at least against the Dragons. We traditionally play teams into form, that's the Mary way!

Thanks for that, GS.
Graham is a concern being out for up to eight weeks.
Is there any mention of Marys recovery from lacking any balls or is this a foregone conclusion?

Don't want to sound too pessimistic but we are in trouble now for the 2019 season.
IMO Lomax showed a lot of potential at full back and should stay there for the rest of the year.
It is not worth playing Dufty there again as we all know he isn't up to first grade and all the same embarrassing mistakes and missed tackles and dropped ball and non contesting and being stripped, etc, etc, will happen again.
