Plenty of positives to take from this game, especially that the combinatios are starting to come to fruition.
Despite a good game, Macca got shown up by Baptiste who is so much faster and crisper in everything he does, it's not funny! Even in defense, which was my main reason to worry with Baptiste, he surprised me with his good tackling technique and stinging hits.

Hoffman on his return showed why he's the uncontested no.1 for the Broncs. He immediatily offers so many more options and threat in attack when compared to Beale, who despite being solid, hasn't got that x-factor.

Aiming up and competing with the Sharks forward pack was what was asked of our forwards and they did the job splendidly. Very happy except for the soft Mannah try, as the other tries against us came off a dodgy penalty and the ref taking out Thaiday in the scrum.

2- Lockyer
1- Hannant and Parker

Baptiste is already a class above Mac, though both were good tonight. Could be the hooker combo for the rest of the season.

Pretty good performance from the Broncs tonight. Will need to build on that to trouble the better teams though. Thought Anderson was better than usual. Very impressed with Baptiste, everything seems to happen much quicker. Reed had an excellent game as in unlucky to miss out on points.

Now the media are talking up Reed's origin prospects. Please not another Bronco to SOO!

Agreed about Anderson, looked much better than usual tonight. Not sold on Hala at all. Maybe one day but a couple of strong hit ups isn't enough.

Reed was fantastic. He defended very well. I still think Copley needs a bit of time out of the NRL... Baptiste at hooker completely changed our attack. It looked so much sharper. Mac had a good game tonight (some nice kicks) but still, Baptiste is really looking like he will shine. Great to see Hoff back and played well. Quiet out on Yow Yehs wing but he didn't really go searching for a touch... Also great to see Thaiday put in 80 minutes. Slowish game but surely a good sign for his injury.

Reed is awesome. If qld have Hodges and inglis out, he would go close to selection.no centre has had it over him this year, and he has faced some tough match ups. My favourite player at the moment

Hoffman looked tentative all night.
He wasn't running freely at all :sarcasm:
Must have been tough coming back from a broken leg.

Anderson was much improved last night, I think Dodds has a big future if he keeps improving at the rate he is. Anyone know how many minutes Carlaw played?? He made a few good runs but didn't think he played much.

Baptiste looked much sharper, his ability to get out of dummy half provided the space for Jack Reed to charge over. At this stage of his career he does not have much NRL game time in his legs. They were previoulsy persisting to get him to play out a full game of NYC. He is out of petrol quickly. They are doing a good job of managing his progress. Remember when Sam Thaiday came on the scene he was struggling to play out 13 minutes of NRL before he was gassed.

I agree re Scott Anderson, I thought that was his best performance last night for the Broncos. Great to have Hoffman back, he will improve plenty with the run under his belt.

Carlaw played 18 minutes. I thought he went well. Baptiste needs more minutes every week...

Like everyone else......very impressed with Baptiste's performance. Very quick out of dummy half and his defence was superb. Love to see him get more game time. I think once he comes out of his shell a bit more he could be anything. Hopefully by R15 or 16 Griffin starts Baptiste with Mc either coming off the bench or dropped for another option all together.

Most of the forwards really aimed up. Again the more experienced players in Parker, Thaiday and Hannant stood out. Glenn was again outstanding. They set the platform.

I thought Dodds and Anderson had a much improved showing.

Lockyer as usual was brilliant in steering around the young guys. Reed was fantastic.

The back line looks a lot better with Hoffman back in the team.

Copely I still think is a bit lost out there. I'm keen for a change. Bring back Gagai.

Overall ..........a great win

18 mins played for 6 runs/55m and 13 tackles

Give it a rest.

You've already proved yourself to be a dickhead.

No need to go on with it...........

As the creator of the Alex Glenn is the truth bandwagon a few years ago, its quite emotional to see the fantastic first grade player hes turned in to. Will be one of the best in the game in the coming seasons.

I thought Carlaw played better than his stats suggested. Made some metres when we needed them. Forwards seem to be aiming up a bit better now. Keep it coming.

Great to see Hoffman back to give us that little spark from the back 8)

I too thought Carlaw went OK with his limited game time. He seems to give the pack a real steadying influence when he's there.

Good win last night .... let's hope the boys can keep it going and pick up the tempo a bit next game as well :)

Probably still won't be able to get a run for NZ.

Right now? Probably would be suited to the utility role off the bench.

In a few years he'll be a main stay in the kiwis team. Probably Broncos captain a few after that too.
