Ripper post Mac. 100% agree. As someone said above, the skeleton in the closet is possibly still the end of the Johns era. Sad but probably true.

I'm happy to support Bennett while he fixes this problem. At a guess we are at least 12 months from developing the mental capacity to "want" to compete at the level needed. If we look as bad as we do this time next year then I will cop the Bennett/Tinkler fallout that will occur. It would seem as though, so far, Tinkler is on board with what will be a longer wait for some success.

we don't know what to expect from our new club, Old Timer. that's where some of the hurt is coming from. it's hard to trust something that has no track record. i think there are plenty of us that still believe we will get to where we are trying to get to... but many are only starting to deal with the fact that it won't be this year.

Drop balls at crucial times really cost us.
Also we had a rookie fullback and wing.
If Boyd and Uate played, I think we would've won it.
The first 20 was mistake after mistake from the rookies.

yes, it was almost comical to watch the rookies fluffing it early. we're not the kind of team that can shake that off, unfortunately. all a part of the problem.

I just don't get why players like Edwards, Hilder, Naqaima, Fuss, Tui etc looked like world beater's last year, and this year look like they don't know how to put on pants.

How can a bad coach make players good, and a good coach make players bad?

Watching our boys forget how to attack, then show no heart in defence is getting very soul destroying to watch. They're obviously trying, but shit, give us something. I can't remember the last time we were booed off. And on last night's game we deserved to be.

All year fans have been calling to give the NSW cup players a go.
Oh well, good learning experience for them.

No one said anything about Pete and Kev, the names getting mentioned were Likiliki, Albert Kelly, Zane Tets and Cook, also Sims from NYC. I can understand Sims and Cook have no first grade experience hence it's hard to throw them in the deep end but the other 3 have all done good things in first grade

We've had this discussion...

Let me rephrase it for the sake of the thread: replace 'bad' with 'less credentialed'. The point was not to say incompetent, but someone with less achievement and standing in the game.

My post is an observation, not a Rick Stone piece.

Edwards has never been a world beater, a few decent tackles was enough to hide all his other deficiencies but it's not enough anymore, Wes was playing for a contract to retire off, Faas and Tui haven't really regressed that much, they just don't suit the change in gameplan

Well, unless we can offload some players we won't be seeing Korbin Sims in first grade this year.

Is there not one among you that has any belief in your club whatsoever?

I think you'll find that's why we are here.

I have no doubt that all will turn around. It's just the interim pain that has people questioning why this team is playing the way it is.

Fair point - on all of them. I really don't remember Eddy missing those one on one basic tackles around the legs like he is this year. WTF up with that.

And how does he avoid getting dropped when Zeb - who, whilst patchy, has been much better than him..

I suspect teams have done their work on him, not running straight at him or try to run over him but rather using footwork and passing at the line.

For sure. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to offload the vast majority of the forwards at least. Problem being, who would want them?

The dogs have about half a dozen outside backs injured, we should help them out by giving them Sau, Wes and Kev.

Cowboys were after Houston a few years back maybe we can offer him as a replacement for Tariq Sims, Eddy can go back to Cessnock and work in the mines, and Nev is a premiership winning forward with half a dozen Qld caps under his name surely someone cam show him abit of love
