Correct I did.

But that assumption was based upon my assessment on how your team would perform under Wayne. Now you are surely not suggesting that Tinkler is in seventh heaven with distinct possibility of you guys taking out the spoon with Wayne at the helm? Or maybe you are?

You believed that the team would perform as it is now did you?

Thats a NICE way to put it silent - but realistically 80 out of that 89 should be here putting absolute SHIT on the team we support

Knights are my sunshine

You'll never know Knights
How much I HATE YOU

Do you do anything but point out the obvious mate?

Bugger off back to the Dragons forum where you belong. We have enough shit stirrers within our own ranks

Yes Joker but I pointed it out to you when you were all still in the Bennet euphoria. Not on your recent performances.

And I whole heartedly agree with your second paragraph and thus will take my leave. But might drop in for the odd cuppa, just to see how my prediction pans out. Trust I am wrong. Only time will tell. Adieu

I suppose most would have thought the Dragons would slide down the ladder very quickly after Bennett left. An assumption that has turned out to be true.

However, I don't believe that many would have thought the Knights would slide as they have with Bennett at the helm. It is interesting watching this team implode.... and I can't wait to see what happens from here.

It's nearly impossible for this standard of athlete to be any poorer in their performance.

Well, you would hope so.

when do the Knights take on the Eels? should be a cracker of a game!
.
I believe we just surpass the BYE next week (still get a few injuries though) - and then get beat by the struggling Eels the week after to jump us DOWN the ladder to the inglorious position of 16th ! (maybe 15th on for and against) - but something still to be proud of !

You're not beaten yet
Don't give up
I know you can make it good

In this proud land you grew up strong
You were wanted all along
You were taught to fight, taught to win
You never taught you could fail

Don't give up
You dont need much of anything
Don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where you belong..... LAST... :D

2. McManus - that drop ball for their whatevereth try just stands out in my mind above all else. usually safe. wasn't. seems to be getting worse like everyone else.

it's like the shitness is rubbing off on him

The post mortem in Monday's paper should be interesting. That was as quiet and dispirited a crowd as I've seen there. People looked glum before the game had started. Not cool.
Beau Scott can't get there quick enough. He isn't the solution but they need some players with his attitude and mongrel. Some of the guys out there look like they don't think they belong and are getting pushed around a bit.

i can't wait 'til they upload this press conference. should be a doozy.
From Twitter:

When asked if there's any players who aren't under the pump @NRLKnights coach Bennett says Buderus, he's been outstanding #nrlnewcan

Wayne Bennett says that Kurt Gidley's injury has hit them harder than he first thought it would

Bennett says he's also making decisions about players long term futures.. Refuses to speculate on which players

@NRLKnights Wayne Bennett says everyone is feeling the pain, fans, players, coaches

@NRLKnights Wayne Bennett says he doesn't know if the teams going backwards or forwards. Doesn't think they are going anywhere

Hurting bad. We all are! All the belief has been sucked out of many supporters. People just look bewildered.

Amazing that Zeb has been below par this season, signs for another club, is dropped, then put back into the side and off the bench was probably our best tonight.

Sums up the team and season really - all over the shop!

Aqua I think Joel has been if not the most - definetely up there - THE most drop in form since last year - and for that I can honestly come up with one reason - COACH ! His game has totally changed - even in defence he used to absolutely RATTLE some bones last year - I reckon I have seen him rip off one bell-ringer this whole year!

I'm actually pretty relaxed. I've managed to remove a lot of the emotion from my support at the moment which is good.

I'll always be analytical about what's going wrong, but I'm simply not getting my hopes up at the moment.

Feel the same way, which is actually a bit sad I think. This year feels like I just watch our games because that's what I've done my entire life, not because I'm actually excited about the match or the result itself.

You know it's bad when you sit down before the game and think, "well, we are almost certainly going to dish up the same insipid and ill-disciplined rubbish as every other week, but gee I hope Gagai plays well".

It's just boring being a Knights supporter at the moment. We can't even run a simple backline play that any school team puts together. How can a first grade NRL side get 6 tackles inside an opposition 20m and not put together a single play other than a stupidly predictable inside ball to Chris Houston?

I'm yet to see Mullen dummy... His inside ball is to Houston who is at least 800metres behind him and the defenders have an hour before Houston gets to the line...

Gagai was refreshing to watch and Mason is God.

So I went out tonight and just finished watching the recorded game now...glad I could fast forward the last 15 mins or so...cough...

I don't get it.

I wish I could just watch them with no emotional investment this year but I can't.

I think one of the main problems us fans don't "get" is Wayne keeps saying the players will get there (get used to his style I guess), but the thing is we did have some pretty great games in the first few rounds (wins and losses) and just seemed to have gone backwards.

All I can hope for is not the spoon I suppose, maybe a few wins against other bottom teams.

This year was the first year I became a Knights member (live in Brissy so don't get much value from it), but the reason I did is because I wanted to be guaranteed to get a seat (pretty much) if we made the GF :lol::lol::cry::cry:

i thought that argument was put to bed when he did it with the Dragons. it's not that i disagree with you about the players, but you could never say how many of those players would have been as good without Wayne as their coach, either. yes, he had a good thing up in Brisbane, but he was also a big part of building the club into what it was. building the ethos of the jersey. Brisbane have way more going on up there than just having the best players. they also produce the best players, and consistently get the best out of them.

I dont' agree that what he did at the Dragons put the argument to bed.

In the Dragons starting 13 they had 9 internationals and a further 3 Origin players. The only player that had not had representative experience was Soward who got origin experience the next year.

It was a team stacked with talent, it was Bennett who put the polish on them that Brownie couldn't.

In respect of what happens in Brisbane, the Broncos have the monopoly over more than 2 million people and a lot more in QLD country. They are also the richest club in the league. Money speaks volumes and they give hundreds of young kids scholarships (I know some that were under 13) like it is going out like confetti. This ties up all the kids in a large part of QLD to the Broncos.

They have the money to do this through their fan base (averaging over 30,000) and huge sponsorships that has the whole Brisbane market. They also have the Thoroughbreds which also benefits the Broncs. Remember Lockyer contract was only $250k which got attributed to the cap.

The Broncos are doing well now after Bennett with Hook. He learnt his trade under both Bellamy and Bennett.

The Broncos will always be a powerhouse due to the money they earn and the monopoly they have on the Brisbane market. They will always get the best players in QLD because of this and the significant amounts of money they throw around at young kids and the support of the Thoroughbreds. If they didn't have this, the Broncos would never have won as many premierships and Bennett the supposed aura he has.

After 3 years at the Dragons, I am not sure they are seeing much "after benefits" of Bennett looking at where they are now as well as their under 20's.
