I have spoken to a few players over the years about playing after origin all said the closer the game is the better it is
I expect Cleary on Tuesday to name a full strength side then adjust it after origin depending on how the boys pull up

It's a 2 day turn around so ideally should be a similar team to v Tigers, with Api playing if he doesn't play Game 1. And no May at halfback, shift him back to 14 and give Falls a shot at it. He will surely be our back up half next year when Burton is at the Dogs.

Not sure a development deal guy can play with Salmon fit.

Also Falls is yet to do a pre-season very raw

Normally is true but not so after a 4 hour flight. I think we name like 25 this week

I want Martin back for this game. We need someone to put the fear of God into Moylan particularly because he is finding some decent form now.

Depending on workload I also wouldn't mind Cleary or Luai coming back in to add stability to the halves.

I said earlier. Possibly in the troll filled Tigers thread. I see him backing up because look at the minutes the rest of the pack play for their clubs. Even less if Freddy plans to use Wighton like May.

Luai no. Mentally will be drained. Cleary on the other hand is used to backing up

I don't think either option would be better than May anyway.

It is hard to say whether Mays performance was due to his own play on the night, or was effected by coaching/game plan, lack of preparation or simply all the other players around him being dismal.

I don't rate Ivan that highly but surely the gameplan wasn't to slowly jog across field offering nothing. May is ridiculously bad

Journos asked questions about the crowd and the rivalry, that's all they think about. I would have asked Ivan why his fill-in halfback made more tackles than any other player on the field, to the complete detriment of attack. Was it planned or did he do it because the forwards were getting slaughtered? Or did the Tigers just run at him and no-one thought to do anything about it?

If he was under instructions, or even if he had to do it to keep the opposition at bay, it really is very unfair to criticise his effort when he played double his usual minutes and wouldn't have had the juice in the tank to run the ball.

I was quite pessimistic about the Tigers game, but actually liked what I saw mostly and think we will improve for the run. I think adding Api back (assuming he doesn’t play) and go with largely the same team as last week (with a few tweaks) and I am confident of the win.

Api will make a huge difference. As would just swapping Burton & May. How IC came to the conclusion that May should be 7 & Burton 6 absolutely boggles the mind.

Did May play as a 7 though? I mean Burton did all but 2 kicks for the game. It looked more a left and right thing

Yeo often plays 1st receiver too though. Whatever the tactic was it should be 1st on the list to change this week

Not that often and yes if Ivan is a decent coach he'll recognise the issue.

Burton 13 kicks, May 1, a grubber. It seems awfully like the game plan was for Burton to do the kicking.

Of course because he's the better kicker of the two. That's not in dispute.

I don’t think Ivan will play any of the SOO players this Friday night and and that includes Api. i don’t know when the NSW team is scheduled to fly back, but obviously it will be Thursday sometime and probably not early as they will most likely have a recovery session up there.

Tyrone May have copped heaps on here and I’m not sure he deserves the weight of criticism that has come his way.

Personally, I would put Burton at 7, Salmon at 6 and May 13.

I doubt Spencer gets a start this week so he is back to the bench and start with JFH & Matt Eusinhuth up front. Spencer’s form is a bit of a worry, not sure what the problem is, but something is not right.

Even being generous to may it's hard to ask a guy to play 7 after years not playing in the halves.

Spencer is worrying me as well. He was completely invisible against the Tigers.

Personally, I don’t think Tyrone May was the reason we lost, it is convenient to lay the blame at his feet, but he certainly wasn‘t helped by some of team mates who should have performed better. The better team, and I say team, won. Having a bench with 18 NRL games between them, Salmon contributing 17 of those was always going to make things difficult. i thought we did quite well to get ourselves back in the contest only for a huge Kikau mistake and two big calls to take the game away from us.
