Round 14 Vs Sharks

I don’t think Ivan will play any of the SOO players this Friday night and and that includes Api. i don’t know when the NSW team is scheduled to fly back, but obviously it will be Thursday sometime and probably not early as they will most likely have a recovery session up there.

Tyrone May have copped heaps on here and I’m not sure he deserves the weight of criticism that has come his way.

Personally, I would put Burton at 7, Salmon at 6 and May 13.

I doubt Spencer gets a start this week so he is back to the bench and start with JFH & Matt Eusinhuth up front. Spencer’s form is a bit of a worry, not sure what the problem is, but something is not right.
After 2019 game 1 Roosters played 3 of 4, Storm played 4 of 4, Broncos 1 of 5, Rabbitohs 3 of 4, Panthers 1 of 1. It is not unheard of backing up Origin players and I would be playing at least one of the halves, Martin and Koroisau if they come through OK. Maybe To'o too.

Why? We don't need the 2 points and it will have no effect on how we are playing in September.

If we get api and one of the halves back that will give us a chance against the sharks.if we go in with the same team that played against the tigers we will get the same result

Freddy is from the time when it was a badge of honor to back up. It is hard to say no to them if they want to.

We have a trainer in the NSW team. I'd trust his judgement

I don’t disagree it was arguably our strongest 17.

I certainly agree some of our players who we needed to step up, clearly didn’t Which was disappointing.

I haven’t watched a full replay, have no intention obviously but I have watched a few replays of the penalty try and I think it was a harsh call.

I think Jennings initial contact was with the ball which caused the ball to come free. The contact with the head thereafter was inconsequential therefore not responsible for the absence of the grounding of the ball. IMO the ball carrier lost possession of the ball as a result of Jennings contacting the ball in the first instance and thereafter any contact with the head should have resulted in a penalty, not a penalty try. It makes no difference to the outcome I just don’t believe Jennings contacted the head first, and not the reason the ball came free.

Salmon should of been halfback. May lock. That is better use of the 17.

I too haven't watched the replay but a few things I remember.

Mid way through the 1st half. A dodgy pass bounced to Jennings. He beat his guy with only Leilua inside. Crichton wasn't inside so a try missed. Likely was standing with where the ball should of gone.

We made a break. Went left when numbers were right.

Same off the Liddle try.went the wrong way.

I agree with that on the penalty try. It was a penalty but not try.

a few things just was bad luck. Which likely doesn't happen nexxt week

I posted the video when we were discussing it. He hits the head then the ball. It's a penalty try. Normally things can be worth arguing but that call always has been and always will be a penalty try.

And if the pack play like it did last week? No halfback will do anything if you are kicking from your 30m line. Salmon is the better option
While you're spot on here...a half behind a badly beaten pack is on a hiding to nothing.

Weren't you one of the Cleary knockers saying he should have been able to single handedly win Origin 3 last year with 43% possession behind a badly beaten forward pack?

Penalty yes.
Penalty Try - depends if you think he already lost it before the hit
