I swear Tyrone May has been named in every position for NYC beside prop.

Anyway not confident for this game, got a feeling Sowie wont play and Anderson must be there for RCG which doesn't bode well. I didn't even watch last game but I read and heard that we played like dogshit so at this point im just hoping we atleast score.

If we win against the Tigers and one of the following 3 games (id target Souths without Inglis pre origin) we would be 7/10 with an easier run in and hopefully all our players back. We'd be in with a shout.

Panthers: Jamie Soward (knee/shoulder) had a mishap early in the week, but has since trained and is set to play. Reagan Campbell-Gillard (finger) saw a specialist during the week and has been cleared. Josh Mansour (knee) hasn’t been in full training and is unlikely to be a late inclusion, with medical staff taking a cautious approach after he re-injured his knee in the captain’s run on his last comeback attempt. There is talk Brent Kite (broken leg) will retire in the coming days.

Sounds like Soward will play

Finally some good news. Kite retiring would be best for everyone.

But would love him to stay involved with the club. He has a lot to offer to our younger guys, just not on the field.

Definitely couldnt hurt. Grant & Mckendry were looking like future superstars with Petero mentoring them. Once he left things tapered off. I dont know if RCG's rise has anything to do with Kite, but if it has it would be prudent to keep that going.

I can understand mentoring for young halves, hookers, back rowers and outside backs, but to be perfectly frank, what do you need to know as a young front rower? Run hard, tackle hard, offload if safe to do so?????

Not so much about teaching them the game as it is getting their heads right fibro. Clubs invest a lot into players well being these days, providing good role models and mentors for them is part of that, they help with things like Preparation, handling media and fans, dealing with form slumps, injuries and so on.

I get what you are saying betcats, and don't disagree with you. I just think all these extra ancillary staff cost the club money. Do we need to have a separate mentor for each position on the field? I think we can overkill sometimes.

No-one talking about this game much. Maybe because we've been getting pwned by forward packs well and truly inferior to this one.

We won this game last year, in a similar position disruption-wise, though both sides were in the top 4.

The thing with the Dogs pack is they can be lazy, and some of them look a bit unfit. Pritchard, Kasiano and Eastwood are all very talented footballers, but not exactly shining specimens of endurance any of them. It's about the only advantage we have up front. The Origin blokes might be flat after what was a pretty hard game.

On our side we are rapidly approaching desperation stage. Honestly if we are going to leak three tries in the first 20 minutes like we've been doing recently, it's time to start booking tickets to Bali for early September. The thing is, our defence has tightened as the game has gone on in many games recently, so its not as though we can't do it.

I'm expecting us to give the Dogs a game. If the Dogs are switched on they might be too good, but we have to turn up ready to play and play for 80 minutes.

I thought he took our deal for a post footy job.

We had the right tactics against Melb just played poorly. If we can go the same way get Peachey, Brown etc using their speed around the rucks we are a chance

Yeah I thinks that's probably true. But from the clubs POV if it helps a little bit then its a positive and it probably serves as another small selling point for potential signings.

Just need to put one hard shot on Reynolds and he'll go full genius. Even a decent sledge or 2 is probably enough
