i have to congratulate you i was listening to the game on the radio driving home and i couldn't believe my ears
the broncos were forced to make 10 line dropouts and still hung on to win that has to be a record i wish the eels showed half their grit in defence

You should get Kearney back then

Yeah I wanted to ask an Eels fan about that. What do you make of Stephen Kearney being our defensive coach lol

Maybe it really wasn't his fault, considering where Parra are currently

well kearneys first few years with the bronx leaked points, so i dont know whether its kearney who's done the work or whether bennett and the support staff he brought are a big reason for the change in attitude. i'm not so sure its any major shift in defensive structure as opposed to the attitude and commitment of the players to keep turning up.

the repeat effort was outstanding. haters will tell you the storm were missing slater and cronk but for any side to defend so many repeat sets and play with so little ball and field position and win is a mighty effort. definitely one of the clubs greatest and gutsiest wins

Unbelievable game but the relentless storm couldn't deliver the knock out punch. Maybe that could have been Slater or Cronk but any other side having to defend that many repeat sets would have thrown in the towel before it hit double figures.

Hunts kicking game still a risky proposition. Especially that kick at the death which should have gone out but ended up giving them seven tackles which nearly won them the game. Can't believe we don't still have a specialized kicker when it's such a staple part of other top teams. Would make our life a lot easier in not just the possibility of scoring but keeping them down their own end.

Great game by Oates and just about the whole team but does Vidot, who i think has lottsa potential, know how to catch a ball?

For the number of tackles they made it was a great effort, but it's not like Melbourne were throwing much at them in attack. The way they defend just seems to play into Melbourne's hands, every time we play them they hang off Cameron Smith. Should never have conceded 12 dropouts or whatever it was.

I feel like WB knew all along Melbourne were just going to play the possession game and go for as many repeat sets as possible.

But the team never really panicked when defending our line and kept turning up to tackles. Every one of them should take a bow, because that result was just brilliant.

We were meant to lose that game, but I feel like we are becoming that champion team that wins the games they are meant to lose and destroys the ones we are meant to win.

Can't believe the attitude our team has this year. It's just a treasure to watch and you can really see the confidence in the players.

Was dreading taking on the harder teams in the second half of the season, but bring em on now!
