Looks like just about the same team that ran out last week. Which is all well and good, I think this is just about the best available team we can field considering injuries, suspension etc. I just hope we get our attitude right and get rid of the stupid mistakes and penalties.

This is a very important game for us, we need to get our heads right and the Sharks are the right team to do it against.

Would have been good to have seen Sauce on the bench, he has played enough state cup games this year .... he needs to be thrown in with the big boys now.

I cant help but look at that lineup and wish we could name Tate and Winterstein in it. But i agree, this is probably the best we can field at the moment so i cant complain, just hope the boys show a little self belief this week and play like we all know they can.

I'm not a huge fan of throwing new signings in as soon as they arrive - Taumata will need a few weeks training with the boys to adjust to our style of play, ie losing badly.

We signed him as halves cover didn't we? Maybe if Harris doesn't work out we could stick him at right centre and see how he goes there.

Might get a run this week if Watts is ruled out - Amos is playing City v Country.

The CSSC will be there in smallish numbers. Come buy us a beer if you want.

If we manage to lose this game i will murder a small child with my bare hands..... probably not a good one, maybe just a redheaded one, but enough to send a message.

Have you seen the performances of each team over the last few games??? You really think the Cows are the better side??

If Anthony Watts plays you are a chance, if he doesn't you have buckleys. He has been the Cows best all year.

f**k me... if we lose to CRONULLA I bloody well give up on this team. The Sharks are the only team that rival us in terms of consistently rubbish performances. Considering how we went against Canberra I'd rate us a great chance.

I hate it when the Cronulla mob play up here, same with Manly. Their fans are always loud, drunk and obnoxious.

HAHAHAHA

Yeah, they should BE quiet (unless they are winning by lots or at the end of the game when they run down to needle other fans), drunk and obnoxious like Cowboy supporters.

Edited just for you Charlie.

I am unsure how many games you get to up here each year, but I go to about half the games each year as I love live football.

But it is a bit rich hearing a Cowboys supporter call other fans drunk, loud and obnoxious.

And anyway, its a football match, when is being LOUD a bad thing??????????

Maybe he is the kind that would rather sit at home to watch his team play.

JC have you seen the odds on us winning?

lol

13+ paying 6.50

throw that with a multi on either fergo or ike first try scorer and i should get a decent payout.

lol @ 1.45 favourites.

edit: even 1-12 paying 4.25 is a steel.

I would also add that there are some absolutely fantastic Cowboys fans.

Maddog epitomises spirit. The bloke comes over before and after most Sharks games and has a chat with the CSSC and a laugh, generally has a few photos taken as well.

We give him heaps during the game and he stirs us just as much. That bloke enjoys footy and brings some atmosphere to a stadium that can be very dull sometimes.

There is also a big group of older ladies who sit up on the Southern Hill who we had sat next to as a group a few times and come over each year to say hello.

Saturday night when the Sharks vs Cowboys in Townsville is always my favourite night of the year.

It says in the Bulletin that if Watts is unfit, Payne will play the 80 rather than bring Amos or Taumata into the side.

I just don't know if Payne can play the full 80, or if he should, even if he can. Payne's form this year has been pretty unimpressive.

I'd prefer Amos to be given first choice, but if he wants to play for Country then I see no reason not to throw Taumata in there. Plus I can't think of any reason to run with 4 forwards off the bench anyway - it's not like we have enough quality forwards to do that.

There's no point with the 4-forward rotation I agree, throw Taumata in. He's played 5 games at 15 clubs, give him a massive confidence boost by giving him a run first up.

He hasn't played NRL in 2 years and hasn't played any kind of game in a couple of weeks. I think he'd need more than 1 or 2 training sessions with the team if he is going to be playing in a key position.
