Right, after a bye for the entire competition over Rep Round, the NRL is back this week so it's time to get back into it and look towards the Tigers this Sunday arvo. Hopefully our boys have had a good rest over the bye week, have sorted out some little niggles, and are refreshed and ready to go. On another note, the guys that played Origin have a full week to recover so hopefully they rest up during the week and are good to go for this one.

Every game is important but more so this week when you consider the Draw for Round 16. All our fellow contenders play each other this week so we have a chance to either move up the ladder, or open an even bigger gap to fifth. That's why the win is so important in this one. We're coming up against the Tigers who we all know are a bit of a bogey side for us, they always lift for this one. I know we bet them in Round 6 but it was by the skin of our teeth and they certainly put us off our game with agro and niggle that night which lead to Latrell's suspension. We'll need to be warey of that this time.

I find it hard to get a read on the Tigers this year. I believe they're a decent side that is capable of pushing for the top eight when they want to be, but some weeks they come out and play like wooden spooners. So it really depends what Wests side turns up on Sunday. They'll be in all sorts after their huge loss to the Storm in Round 15 and will be desperate to turn it around so we need to be wary of the bounce-back factor, especially at their home ground. I still think they have a decent forward pack lead by Tamou and Leilua so containing that is the key this week.

For us, we need to build on that Round 15 game against Brisbane. I know we've had the week off but hopefully we can come into this one with momentum still raging from that game. I want to see our defence continue to improve against a bit of a tougher side and hopefully our attack continues to flow. It took us a little while to work ourselves into that last game so I'd like to see us start fast and come out fired up. Completion rate continues to be an issue so that is a big work on this week. In terms of team selections, we're going to be missing Tatola which is a loss so hopefully whoever comes in for him will step up. Other than that, i hope all our Origin guys are good to go.

And just one final thing. We're back into strict biosecurity protocols with tight restrictions as well as potentially playing in front of no crowd. However, the boys can't let that effect them. We did it last year and we can do it again, business as usual. Bring on Sunday!!

We should be expecting a win here. Wests are a rabble and i expect Madge will make multiple changes again to reflect this.

Can't play the same 17 when you get trounced 66-16.

Match will definitely be played in front of no crowds. Interesting if it's still at Leichhardt

Here's my predicted line up for Round 16,

1. Mitchell
2. Johnston
3. Gagai
4. Graham
5. Milne
6. Walker
7. Reynolds (C)
8. Nicholls
9. Cook
10. Arrow
11. Koloamatangi
12. Host
13. Murray

14. Marshall
15. Su'A
16. Sele
17. Burgess

I think it'll be a pretty settled line up with all the Origin boys named. the backline is basically already set but the injury to Tatola changes up the pack a little. For mine, Nicholls keeps his starting spot in the front row as he's done a great job there in his past two games. I'd have Arrow join him as the front row partner in place of Tatola which would see Burgess stay on the bench with Host coming onto that left edge. Benji will be back and I have a strong feeling Su'A will return with a point to prove too.

Rabbitohs Team List for Round 16: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2021/06/29/rabbitohs-team-list-for-round-16/

Great side this week!! Certainly one to be happy with as it's closely as we all expected. Great to see all our Origin lads named to play which leaves us pretty settled for now. Backline is as expected and the forwards are mostly unchanged. Bit of a surprise to see Hame start but I see that as a welcome surprise, there's no doubt he's earnt it. That see's Jai stay on the left edge with Knighty onto the bench. He'll return with a point to prove. Benji returns just in time to once again grace his old stomping ground too!!

Awesome side, keen for Sunday arvo!

Always a very tough game against tigers
True, but the mauling they copped at the hands of the Drizzle will see them either come out firing or play like a beaten side before the balls even kicked off. I think if we score the first couple of trys their heads will drop and we will run away with it.

Whoa!
Hame starting, and Knight on the bench, with Sua still on the outer?
We need to get on that phone and ring the Broncos for a player swap - Sua for Pangai. Sua is done.

Well, after what feels like an age since our last game, the day we've been waiting for has finally arrived. Game day is here!!! It's a very important game day for us too this one as we take on the Tigers in a game that could have significant implications on the ladder. If we win today, we will not only move up to outright third on the ladder but we'll open up a six point gap to fifth which is a nice little buffer. So yea, a very important game this afternoon.

The Tigers have been struggling of late but I don't expect this to be easy at all. Not sure what it is but Wests always seem to save their best for us. No matter where they are on the ladder they seem to lift and find another gear. You look at the last four times we've played them, all games they've really stuck it to us in the end. They should also be very fired up to turn around the result in their last game so we must be weary. On another note, we've developed quite a good rivalry with them over the last few years and I'm looking forward to that continuing this afternoon.

For us, it's all about not taking them lightly as I said, we cannot afford to go into this game with a complacent attitude. That good attitude starts in defence which has been improving for us but I want to see it continue to do so. If we can get our defence right, then hopefully everything else can flow off the back of that. We know we have the attack, it's just a matter of having the defence and the completion rate, that should be the focus today.

Adding to the occasion is the fact that we're playing for the Beyond Blue cup and the milestones we have today. "Liam Knight is set to play his 50th NRL game in South Sydney colours this Sunday against the Tigers. Campbell Graham will play in his 100th game for the Rabbitohs in all grades. Benji Marshall will surpass John Sutton and Brad Fittler on the game’s all-time first grade game list this Sunday and draw level with former team mate Darius Boyd in equal-ninth position on 337 first grade games."

So a significant day today, one that I hope our boys are up for. Bring it on!!

I know Tigers usually fire up against us but they weren't coming off 60 point hammerings those other times. I really believe if we start well and score the first couple of tries it will totally demoralise them and they will drop their bundle. Plus, as Travitoh said, our halves know if they fire up they will probably land Blues jerseys, and unlike Moses they will rise to the challenge.

Well it’s that time of week again game day is here. If we want to have a shot at the top 2 this is a game we simply can’t lose. Last time we played the Tigers we won a crazy game in golden point and it was a tough one. Tigers and Souths games mostly tend to be tight affairs so we need to be switched right on. For us I’m not worried about how many points we score, what I’m worried about is how many we let in. And please Trell get through a game against the Tigers without losing your cool!

SO EVERYONE FIRE UP WE HAVE BIG CHANCE OF GOING UP TO THIRD ON THE LADDER. RABBITOHS MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS EVERYONE ON YOUR FEET AT 4:04PM LETS GO AND GET THESE TIGERS GLORY GLORY!!!
