Round 16 vs Eels

One problem I think people are having with your reaction to this game is you're saying we are doing things we aren't.

Nobody is denying we played pretty badly for a lot of that game. The fact is, in spite of that, we beat a team who played excellently for most of the game. To quote me the ladder positions is to miss the point. Parra played like a great team until we broke through them and they collapsed.

Top teams are allowed to play shit. And obviously, we don't want to see them play like that every week. But they did this week, under all the adversity of the conditions, exhaustion and the backing up, and still won.

I think if you go back through most premier teams, they all game games where they played quite below average. Even our fellow Top 4 teams have played this way.

Save your breathe mate.

Not for the year I don't think mate, 3 to 4 more weeks last time checked. So by the time he gets back our season may be over.

He was great for the first 5 or 6 weeks, not quite as lively in his last few, maybe the break will do him good!

It sucks we have to play you mean pack of mongrels twice in the next month or two, heaven help us lol
You guys have always done pretty well against us. There's certainly been some classics over the years (2010 QF stands out, I try not to remember 2005 or 2011).

Interesting to see how you go for the next few weeks. Basically a brand new spine, they'll make or break your season imo. Even despite my loathing of farah I'll still be hoping you guys string some wins together, except against us, obviously.

Get real.
Knights, rabbits, raiders smashed the eels.....and even damn Manly put 50 on them.

Fine to win ugly vs top 6 teams, but vs the last team.....total BS excuses.

If you can't see what's coming, I guess you soon will.

Mate , in what round did they smash the Eels? because we would have smashed them also pre injuries, a little bit of flatness & fatigue & mental flatness from rep duties, you obviously base your opinion on wins only by smashing the opposition, anything else is unacceptable, you obviously come from the school of Mr. Dokic.

I don't care what they are , they are far better options than the Sloth.
I had this debate with the Mrs this morning (I lost), I think Latimore has been a lot better buy than I thought he would be but what we must do is have trust in the juniors rather than rely on “old heads”. I thought this year was perfect to bring Jacob Host and others into first grade and decide whether they have it or not, dont wait until State of Origin time to do it. I really think other clubs are a lot better at bringing the youngsters through than we are.

Under all the circumstances, that's the most important win in years, one that will bond the squad no end.

Finding a way to win - and believing you can.

Best mental therapy possible.

It smacks of a changing team culture, and should at last give Mary the confidence to utilise more of his squad.
A great forward pool is now there for the finals - bar injury.
Now blood some reserve backs for insurance ASAP - then the personnel settings might be just about as good as it can get with this squad.

Then it's a matter of honing tactics, game plans & selecting horses for courses as they say.
But that's another ball game.

I didn't even see the game & I'm still buzzing
Their celebration of the victory song was celebrated with enthusiasm not seen before, showing what that meant to them as a unit.

With settled halves, a hooker and a fullback it is much easier to bring in young forwards such as Host, Lawrie, Leilua and Sele as there are strong structures and moves in place. There is little structure in place in ISP which means they are forced to play one out.

Exactly as the first grade play!
Since I have returned from Europe four weeks ago, that is all I have seen the team do.
Hard to score a few try's if you don't pass the ball

Wow there are still people shitting on Latimore?
Graham got caught out by chasing too hard from marker, (how dare him after his world travels) & was stepped, but Latimore's attempt to arm grab Manna's shoulder for the first try was EXACTLY what he did against the Bulldogs for a try. I wonder if he was included in their try assist. So if not preferring him to the outstanding performance of Host & the cameo by Leilua is shitting on him, then Guilty your Honour.

If that had of been the GF everyone would be rejoicing on how we never gave in and even those playing poorly contributed when it counted
All a matter of perspective really:point_up:
I know we need to do a lot better in critical areas to ensure the really good sides don’t blow us away and I actually still believe we will struggle to win a comp with the current coaching staff as In all honesty our attack at critical times looks benign and only individual brilliance gets the job done and our defence keeps on making the same mistakes on the right edge regardless of who is on the wing or is the edge back rower.
So just maybe Mc Gregor is doing his job in getting the belief correct and in fact Hornby & Young are by far and away the bigger problem
Maybe Samy has some clues on that theory?
I want to know who is responsible for them back pedalling when defending 10 meters out.

Also, Josh Reynolds may be back for us, which is good, but not Benji , which is bad.

We need the points more than you, so do you think, if I asked really nice, that Mary would rest a few origin stars for us? We could sure use a break right now.

Also, I'd like to know how the Dragons have managed to avoid injuries so well this season. Your clubs definitely doing something right.

Biggest Tiger? Is that you?
