Why is everyone overlooking the fact that Mansour f**ked that up royally? He didn't even jump for it - all he needed to do was bat it away.

I think his mistake was trying to jump and bat the ball away, he lost sight of it and ended up looking pretty silly but Its a short guy who isn't a good leaper vs a bigger guy with a good vertical leap and he has a massive run up, Mansour was never going to get his hands on that ball first. With the kick being so well placed I think Mansours best option would of been a mid air tackle or let him catch it and try to tackle/hold up the ball when he comes down. Mansour out jumping Kyle Feldt just isn't going to happen, especially not on the defensive while feldt has a run up.

Everyone was struggling with the sun. But Mansour didn't want to contest that ball at all. He was hoping it was just fly out and into touch. Very disappointing.

I dunno. Didn't look like he wanted a contest.

Give him a break, he's just come back from a knee reco

I love the sauce. But contesting the high ball is bread and butter stuff. He should have played that situation better.

If he isn't up for it then he shouldn't be in first grade . I think his form has been great since his return and I don't think his injury had anything to do with the contest. Lets hope its a one-off.

Looked like he wasn't sure how to contest it to me and panicked, they kicked on 4th I believe to catch us off guard and make sure Waqa couldn't block the catchers. I just don't think he was ever going to be able to bat that ball away, Feldt with an uncontested run up is always going to get above Mansour, I think he would of been better off trying to tackle(you can tackle him in the air) and force and error or hold the ball up Mansour is strong and he only has to hold up the put down for half a second before the rest of the side smash feldt. Mansour could of committed to getting that ball early and jumped perfectly and still would of got smoked by Feldt in the air.

Mansour had no chance at getting his hands to that ball. He's not that great of a leaper, probably worse after his ACL injury and hes not that tall.

He could have made it harder on Feldt though. But it did look like that kick was going out. Feldt has 10cm on him and a much higher leap.

Blake would have been better off contesting it. Hes taller with a better leap. Might have atleast forced a fumble.

So many sensitive folk around here. Occasionally our players do f**k up and it is worth pointing out; it's not always a refereeing conspiracy. I mean, he bats that ball away, and all the moaning about the refs being out to get the Panthers (I mean, come the f**k on) is rendered moot.

I'm not for a second saying he should be dropped or anything stupid like that. Mansour earns his money a million times over in other ways. But I hate the victim card of all of our losses being out of our control and because of injuries or bad calls or the weather or whatever. That f**k up was clear as day and no-one mentions it.

He did the worst possible thing - backed up and let Feldt use him as leverage. At least try to do something. Would you be making this defense if it has been Hiku? Hell no.

Exactly, saying he f**ked up because he didn't just bat the ball away isnt right imo, he could of contested it better than he did but he was never getting to that ball before Feldt.

Re Waqa, it was fourth tackle I think which is how they managed to isolate Mansour so well, it was a great play from them really.

Yes, you're right.Let's be realists for a second and have a logical discussion for once. All 17 players were awful, the shit c**ts should all be dropped to reserve grade.

The refereeing was perfect and in no way handicapped us to an extent where we were thrown into a position where we had to have flawless defence to repel a thousand straight sets on our line.

Anyone that mentions the refereeing wears a tinfoil hat. They were amazing and beautiful and we were absolutely dog shit.

I watched the game today and thought we played well when we had the ball. The defensive effort today was oustanding can not fault any of our guys. If we had 50 percent possession in the second half we win. Keep defending like that and we will finish in the 8. The attitude is there you don't defend that well if it's not, even if it took half a season to get there. We lost by a penalty goal to an attacking team and had no ball. I'm not happy we lost but i can see this team is heading in the right direction.
Absolutely remarkable how we still scored the same amount of tries despite the amount of time the game was spent in our half.

Cowboys aren't completely stupid without JT in attack. They can still attack well.If we get decisions go our way and we play more in their half when we play them in Penrith we could beat them by 30.

Be careful with your matches, your field of straw men is going to go up in flames. Is this honestly your argument? I'll let you have another go if you like.

It was a miracle aort of try against a much better player under the high ball. He shouldn't have floundered but we did alright after making 400 tackles and having the same amount of tries. Better discipline and we win that easily.

I thought Rein was woeful, His good early service was gone and instead he was testing the defence and looking to run at every chance and killing momentum ala seggy last year. Griffin needs to yank his leash and let him know that shit doesn't fly, a performance like that has me missing Wallace big time. I think Rein killed more than once chance by dummying to Moylan then running across the ruck the other side and looking for a chance to run, he did this off a quick play the ball more than once when it looked like Moylan was expecting the ball and had options. Its not even a good scoot that keeps the defence going backwards, he runs around about 4 metres in a circle on the same spot and gets some shitty pass away when someone gets a hand on him.

He didn't have a great game. He seemed to favour getting the ball to Cleary over Moylan on a couple of crucial occasions as well.
