Round 16 Vs The Cowboys

But that is the point - Griffin has used him the exact same way for the last 5 or 6 games and the exact same thing is happening:

1. Introduce him for the first time 10 minutes into the second half
2. Makes a mistake
3. Gets hooked

This happens once, okay, shit happens. Twice, unlucky. Three, four, five? Something needs to be done. But nothing has. Latu's form has also dropped off, and I'm not sure Griffin yet knows how to use Peachey off the bench. It's a big problem.

I'm not against Kikau being dropped for his errors. That would be totally justified. But the coach is not getting the best out of him either.

I personally would be playing Kikau wider but other then that surely it's the players responsibility not to make simple errors regardless of when or how long you're playing. Griffin has given him a hell of a lot of chances of late, eventually you gotta take one.

Maybe this is the exact reason Griffin didn't play him much in the first couple of months, he just isn't ready.

Kikau should feel blessed he is even given a bench spot. I've seen nothing to indicate he is a first grader yet.

What does Akauola have to do to get another game? He really fires up whenever he comes on and our pack usually goes up a gear to match.

in the kick one tackle before they were trapped in goal Coote was offside in front of the kicker. He then tackled Edwards. The next set they score. We should have had a penalty and been down field with the ball.
That was the real dud call.

Yep. It was darn obvious. I'm just trying not to think about it.

Cowboys got away with allsorts of shit and managed to milk penalties at crucial times.

Shits me that you can be offside on a kick chase and unless you score a try on that play you getaway withit.

But the worst call is penalising Whare for blocking when it wasn't worth a penalty at the best of times, letalone after the shit teams have gotten away with in the past week alone.

The strip call on Rein was a joke also. Hess had hold of Reins arm and wouldnt let him out of it.

We cant buy penalties like that. Our kick chase is taken out constantly and we never get penalties. There would be conspiracy calls if Cowboys had those calls against them.

Don't get the criticism of Griffin re Kikau. If anything it seems he has given him to many chances. All season as soon as Kikau comes on its penalties and errors and he is still getting picked, I would of dropped him a couple of weeks ago. He is obviously doing what he needs to at training but on the field he is just trying to hard, time for a good stint in reserves.

They kept dropping the ball and getting penalties for it. The Rein one made me genuinely angry. I don't mind if blockers get called but don't ignore them until a club game us on the libe and the ref can give a huge advantage to a team.

We lost, but defense was great. Cowboys have been a good side without Thurston all year, and we basically lost the game rather than them beating us.

In a team with the best forward in the game, a QLD half and a handful of other reps, we lost it only to a freak catch, one of the best you will ever see. They couldn't get through us even with a mountain of possession in that second half, that is a major positive to the team and the defense coaches given how horrible we were in the first 2 months.

Moylan thought he was playing tennis out there he was so f**ked from that hit. If he wasn't so dazed i am pretty confident we win and put it away well before half time.

Coote was offside every kick, never called.

Whare's call was the biggest load of shit you'll ever see.

Kikau is horrible, he is T-Rex 2.0, but only bigger. When he ran on, i said within 2 minutes he will drop it. 1 set into it, boom. Those saying that is Griffin's doing, seriously need to have a look at themselves. He drops it every game he plays within 5 minutes of being on the field, usually in attacking position.. Id be hookin him too.

Dissapointed in the loss, but defense was the upside. Bring on next week.

From me it's more criticism of carrying a forward who only played 14 mins.

In fact we see this regularly where one of the bench plays tiny minutes, to me that shows poor interchange management.

This criticism might be valid if we lose because our players are tired at the end of the game and fatigue leads to a loss. In my view we have a very fit team and we don't lose because of fatigue. We kept the best forward in the game mostly quiet and gave as good as we got when we had the ball. A few ref's calls and silly mistakes undid us, not tiredness.

From what I saw, that catch by the Cowboys was brilliant. Almost impossible to defend against and just as likely to lead to a knock on or the ball end up in row Z. He pulls it off and is a champion, he misses it or knocks on and we win. Simples.

Why is everyone overlooking the fact that Mansour f**ked that up royally? He didn't even jump for it - all he needed to do was bat it away.

But we were playing in much hotter conditions than normal, surely that would be considered before the game?

The rotations could be better no doubt but in Kikaus case I don't see it as a reason he is making errors every game, he comes on and thinks he has to make something happen with every play he is involved with and it has been hurting us. He hasn't played well since his debut game, put him in reserves for the rest of the year unless we get more injuries, give Katoa or Elllis that spot until Fish or Carty is back.

Edit: I am not blaming Kikau for the loss, the whole side gets that blame but over the last few weeks Kikau has been way negative in terms of impact.
