This win gave us our 9th of the season, leaving us in 8th place.

Penrith, in 9th, have 6 wins so we have 3 more wins than the team directly below us (Warriors also on 6 wins).

We have created a nice little buffer for ourselves at this stage of the season.

I reckon he knew Watmough would retire whenever he could no longer contribute, and that the retirement loophole would keep his payout off our cap. If you'll remember, we were somewhat devious at the time about paying merkins outside the cap.

Maybe you're right.

Seward was obviously the weak link, and when they tried to rissole him he shat the bed and gave everybody up.

I'd be betting his relationship with Toddy had far more to do with it than anything else. Evidenced by the plethora of sanctions placed upon him by the NRL.
