Round 17 Vs Titans

You seem to have some faith in the attack and suddenly changed your opinion.

No, I said Luai is a *better* attacking option than Cleary. That’s not the same as saying our entire spine will be full of points next year. I never even mentioned the other spine players, I was talking purely about one player and his combination with Maloney. Who'll be gone next year.

I’d put good money on our team next year being in the bottom half for points scored.

Can we not just focus on the remainder about season 2019 without drawing ridiculous conclusions about what is going to happen next season.

I was a little pessimistic about our performance this evening but your conclusions about next season are just ridiculous. But that’s just you I guess.

Nah, I’ll talk about what I like, forum cop. What an absolute flog you are, never should’ve un-ignored. Back you go.

Also I’m not pessimistic, I very clearly said I think this team could finish as high as 5th or 6th next year. But it’ll be on the back of defence, not attack. That’s hardly a huge call for a team currently running 15th in attack and 8th in defence. That’s realism, not pessimism.

(And I was responding to a post about next year, I didn’t start it)

Disagree if you like, but your wrong. It’s not a matter of opinion, is clear as day that Cordner made a poor decision.

You’re wrong. You spelt it wrong and you’re seeing it wrong because of a clear bias you can’t see past.

Jimmy makes a poor decision and shoots out and leaves a wide open hole and he doesn’t tackle anyone at all the ball does not go anywhere near where jimmys rushing and then Papali runs through the line right where jimmy should be, that’s a bad decision or bad read and one that he makes often, the experts in the commentary also saw it this way, the ones with no interest or bias in whether it’s jimmys or Cordners fault.

You were blaiming cordner and cook(anyone but Jimmy right?), it’s clear as day had Jimmy moved up together with Cordner instead of rushing in front of him Papali would not have scored, it’s basic stuff actually, every nrl defence style is dependent on working with the man inside you.

So Aaron Wallace is part of fox sports stats team, he thinks the same as what I suggested for the run metre discrepancy between NRL & Fox. They only give run meters for when a player is taking on the defensive line, not making one or two steps out of dummy half.

Normally I just check NRL but might use a different one if it's not accurate.

We'll I look forward to seeing what happens. We both have us in the 8 at least. Yours is based on what's happened and I'm predicting us to change. There is a good chance you are proven right.

It was a discussion that happened because of what I said. If anyone is to blame it's me.

You guys have said most things.

A lot of delusional stuff.
That’s understandable.

Anyway.
One glimmer of light to me was RCG.
He had a dig.

To me he looks light.
But if he shows the spirit for the rest of the season then we will be better for that.
I wish him all the best.

Another note JFH is a gun.
My favourite.

I'm probably being delusional to be honest. I am predicting Panthers to become a better attacking team :joy:

Funny Ivan was disappointed in our attack and defence. Good to see the club starting to set some standards.

Both him and Kikau ruined overlaps haha.

Gees there’s a lot of negativity in here.

Our execution was slightly off, otherwise we win 35+. I thought Edwards played a lot more first & second receiver & we looked better for it. Really starting to come into his own now his confidence is returning. It’s absolutely pointless chasing another fullback or debuting guys that aren’t ready, Edwards is good enough.

I don’t mind how we’re travelling. Our games starting to evolve, we seem a lot more fluent with the ball. I don’t think we’ll win the comp but we’ll trouble every team we play.

A good attacking coach isn’t happening. Cleary is a 13 year vet, he’s set in his ways.

Best we can hope for is the right off the cuff players to get our attack moving.

It shouldn't be that hard to get someone at the club to come up with 3-4 set plays. Off the cuff plays we do well it is inside the 20 that is the struggle.

We are looking better that is for sure but we are experts at bombing tries. Sadly that seems no less frequent now and is what will cost us at the backend of the year.

I can remember 20 tries we should of got. That may of got an extra win or 2 but at the very least would give us a positive for and against. That for me is the frustrating part of the seasom

I'm not the only one who sees it! There seems to be a coaching decision to do a lot more ball playing.

So we put in an ugly scrappy win against a terrible team (running last now) and we now have guys convinced we are better off without our State of Origin halfback?

We scored 4 tries against the team in last place who are on the verge of sacking their coach. We showed some good signs. But we have to be realistic about the opposition we were playing.

We scored 3 tries each against Roosters and Souths in tough wins... both top 4 sides. We score 1 more try against the team running last and somehow that's a sign our attack is better?

We should have had many more tries last night. Titans effort went along way to allowing everyone to look better than they would have against a good side. I was more proud of our defence than attack. Even in the dying minutes the effort was there to keep Titans tryless. As ugly as we played at times. We put in effort for 80 minutes. Even against a shit team once the game was well and truly won.

Great to get the win,but the attack is still for the most part shit. Lui looks dangerous, but he needs to straighten up a bit. Against better teams the happy feet routine will just get him drilled by a big edge forward. The important this is to play him this year for decent minutes. Even if that means reserve grade. I'm confident he will be a very good player, but he is still very raw.

So pleased for Edwards. He is looking like the player he was pre injury. He strikes me as very coachable, hopefully he can do some work on a bit of ball playing & he could be a fantastic fullback. He doesnt need to ball play like Moylan, just a bit would be nice.
