Egan has one try and no try assists this year. So far his standout is his tackle efficiency of 90%

Luai is the only natural ball player of the bunch, Edwards is good at running off someone, but he’s not a try creator.

For our attack to go next level Egan either has to start putting on try assists or we need a fullback who can.

Edwards got a try assist tonight and 2 tries. So coming on but hooker is still a concern

When Egan comes on we look better in attack. We looked clueless tonight until then. Edwards will be very dangerous running off Luai and Egan. Our middle will be very zippy if you take my meaning.

It'd be quite a shock if Cleary finally got a decent team and it made its mark on the back of attack.

I know it was the Tits and the coughed the ball up in the attacking 20 about 8 times but we seen to have more structure in our defence lately. Sauce and Jimmy have been making good decisions when they rush up and everyone else are just good defenders. This squad has a real Sharks feel about it, just rugged and tough. Sides are going to have to break us open next year which I think is a very different style to the one were used to marking this team on.

I'm not really sure what to make of our attack lately. I think it's clear we are not very well drilled given the shuffling of the squad, but it certainly looks like everyone is working towards A plan which is positive.

Outside of that I think we are seeing more and more guys find form. If Cleary and Kikau can wind up I think we are pretty well placed to compete with the best of the rest for a ticket to get beaten by Souths/Storm/Easts come week 3. It'd be a positive step forward and set this squad up well to challenge after it looked like we had basically squandered this chance at a window.

If Egan was genuinely good in attack he’d be creating and scoring tries. He might be straightening us up a bit more, but so far he’s not an actual attacking threat. He’s just doing what most solid hookers do.

I can’t see us being some quality attacking team next year unless something really changes.

He’s definitely looking better, but can you seriously see us being some big attacking threat next year?

We don’t have that superstar for that, they’re all good footy players, but none *yet* are genuine stars.

He will be our Cook. His best skill is his running. This team is in the process of building confidence. When We click I think we'll actually be very dangerous.

Maybe hyperbolic but for a team building confidence he's been a the forefront of that growth.

He can’t be considered to be much more than a solid hooker until he can play an 80 minute game. It’s arguable that one of the reasons he’s looking better is he’s coming on when the opposition is tired, but genuinely good hookers don’t need that.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good prospect, but thinking he could be our Damien Cook is silly at this point. He hasn’t shown anywhere near the running game for that to be a consideration.

Cook is one of the best running hookers ever.

We bombed 3 tries tonight. It is 1-2 a game start converting those Suddenly we sit mid table attack wise instead of last.

As for taking the next step.. Need a good attacking coach to get some set plays for inside the 20.

Egan is running for less than 15m a game this year. Sure you can argue that’s in part because of our forwards, but you can’t be sure he’s going to be some great running hooker on the back of those numbers.

A good attacking coach isn’t happening. Cleary is a 13 year vet, he’s set in his ways.

Best we can hope for is the right off the cuff players to get our attack moving.

I don't think he'll be as good as Cook. Will just provide the same type of player without becoming an all time great.

Nothing to say he couldn't play 80m. We just have another good player he's forced to share with.

He ran for 62m tonight with a line break.
