You can tell how essential having a proper 5/8th is. Roosters sweeping it too both sides really hurt us tonight. Our lateral defence was too slow. Sutton at 5/8th just isn't doing it for me but the problem is is that we literally have no one to play there unless we move Cody.

Sorry but when you have goal line defence like that, it is clutch. It's a trait that comes with attitude and you can tell that theyre premiership contenders just from the way they defend. They'll concede 100 penalties if they have too.

Really should've won that game but we lacked composure and discipline with the footy tonight. Failing to do something as simple as stay behind the kicker with about 10 to play really turned the game. Not only did it allow them to start from halfway, it denied us a genuine set in their 20 with all the momentum behind us. Instead it took the wind out of our sails and allowed them an opportunity to close out the game.
Really deflated after that result. We robbed ourselves of 2 important points.

They defended their line through multiple onslaughts of 6 tackle sets and we couldn't break it. Both of our tries were flukes really. You're right though we played terribly but we're not a top 4 team I thought that's been apparent for a while.

Our season is over. Move Cody to 6 so that he and Reyno can start to form a partnership. I couldn't care less about whether he's a better fullback than AJ. Unless he's playing him at the back next year, get him into the halves.
