You only need to read through this thread from start to finish to see what the real problem is with the officiating... it's the supporter base.
Check some of the comments here and realise that some go into games looking for a referee to misjudge something so they can throw their arms in the air and cry victim.
John Sutton made three errors, Sam and Reynolds one. That's five errors from our leaders yesterday but there isn't any attention towards that for the loss, it's aimed at Matt Cecchin who either gave too many penalties or not enough (i can't tell, most of the comments made are contradictory)

Not for a moment am i implying that referees are perfect but neither are the players despite earning significantly more and it's down to them to win a game of footy.

Well said mate.
I hate referee blaming.
We weren’t good enough on the night.
Tigers did a great job on us defensively.

Looks like no charge for Sam. Guerra is the only mention on the NRL charge sheet from Saturday's games
Cheers mate they just said so on 2gb too no charge......

He only got him on the chest.. Farah milked it and Sam was right in what he said....

Tatola may have caught Robbie a bit high but nothing in it....

No doubt the better team won but that first half officiating left a lot to be desired... if that's the best we got well the game is stuffed....

And for what it's worth, Sams hit on Farah looks bad in real time. A bit of a wayward arm, follows through with a shoulder making contact with the jaw.
No case to answer but a fair enough penalty in the heat of the moment. Especially when the head needs to be protected, even more than it already is.

Ok, saw it from another angle and Tatola was high, not Burgess. Penalty sufficient
Yipppppeeeeeeee finally fair game from ya....

If they're gonna penalise them every week that's fine.. it's just the inconsistency that is confusing some fans out there..

Guerra the only charge from last night.

Well played Robbie but he did milk it.....

Shouldn't have even been put on report....

You're right - I've been watching rugby league for 40 years and, guess what, referee-bagging is nothing new.
As you say, for some reason fans have always expected the match officials to attain a far greater level of perfection than the players and it's simply not going to happen.

I often find that supporters who do lay the blame on the officials have very little experience actually playing a sport competitively.
I've played games of footy or cricket before and walked off the field frustrated at an officials decision but for every call i feel they got wrong, i can pinpoint at least two errors in my own game that i should've done differently.
Now do that with 16 other blokes in the side and we'll see who had the bigger influence on the game.
But for the observer it's easier to critique the referee than it is to accept that the team just wasn't good enough.

Sammy’s hit was a beauty, took the legs from under him. That’s why in real time it looked like a coat hanger. But in replay it was a beauty, well milked by Robbie.

You're right. Because over 50's know what's best.
Polystyrene is fantastic for the environment, concussion is just a bit of a headache and asbestos is a great insulator.

Maybe I missed it, but I havent seen anyone say we lost because of the refs. From what I’ve read, people have been very critical of our team and rightfully so. I’ve also read, and have written myself, that the reffing was just as poor in the first 40 minutes. If we were good enough, we would have won regardless, but that doesn’t make Cecchin’s performance any better.
