From what I understand, DC recruited quite well from the local union sides this season. As you said Roopy, not good to see the Axemen 0-2, but I think the Bulls and Slayers will be amongst the top teams in the league again this season and once the Axemen start playing at home they will be fine.
Cats defeated the Raiders by a lot to nothing. The Raiders came short-handed, so the Cats gave them about 6 players then went on to score about 12 tries. I have no idea of the official score.
As for the Axemen, they definitely have a very tough early schedule. As Bati said once they start playing at home they will start winning. The only problem I forsee for Jax is if they have to travel for the playoffs as this will be a huge dis-advantage for them.
The bulls played well and won... But, The Sharks self-imploded and lost... It was a good game with the Bulls capitalizing on the Sharks errors. The Bulls played as a team with Vassy running the show. Even though the score was something like 46-16 the Sharks would not go away. The Bulls were laying punishing hits all day, but the fights were a result of the Sharks giving them a taste of their own medicine. AND they didn't like it.....
It's always a good game between the 2 teams....
MARK MY WORDS---THE SHARKS WILL PREVAIL AT THEIR NEXT MEETING
The Sharks need to regroup and they'll be back in the playoff race.
They have about 25 players traveling to Jacksonville and they're all looking forward to it.
Adam Dunn will be back and playing. And maybe Don Rogers will be back from a shoulder injury suffered in the Warriors game. So, it's going to be a good game
Not sure how anyone thinks that Jax playing at home is going to make a difference. They have to play the Sharks, Knights, Cats, and Slayers at home. I said this on another thread but they have one of the toughest schedules and its going to be a long year for the Axeman. Unless one of these teams travel light on the road, they might not win any of these games.
The Axemen are a young [read: green, but athletic] team and it's early in the season. The home-field won't necessarily better them, but these weeks of training and two tough losses will.
I give them 50/50 against the Sharks [though I'd love to see Jax run away with that], but come Round 4 the Slayers will lose in Jacksonville by double digits.
The Bulls-Sharks was a very physical game. The Sharks played tougher than the score indicated and played hard until the end. However, the fights were not a result of the Bulls not being able to take the hits it was due to some ridiculously high tackling on the part of the sharks. The one player was warned numerous times about his high tackles and then finally got what was coming to him.
Cats defeated the Raiders by a lot to nothing. The Raiders came short-handed, so the Cats gave them about 6 players then went on to score about 12 tries. I have no idea of the official score.
Sal, have you been putting the levittown sickle on the Bulls again? You know people can't handle those tough hits of yours mate but keep up the good work Sharks.
