We were ok I guess. I thought the scoreline flattered them in the first half but we weren't great either. The refs blew them into that lead imo. Some extremely soft decisions going their way (though tbf the kick off decision was pretty bad too). Second half the whistle got put away while Souths tired and we looked much better. That said, Wallace has had two extremely soft defensive moments leading to tries in each match this year, barely even making an effort on Norman last week and ditto Cook this week. It needs to stop happening or we need to be looking for a new captain.

Blake was outstanding, Yeo and Cleary very good while Peachy had an awesome cameo at the end. I thought it was a better performance on the whole than last week, with Wallace and Maloney the only two I'd be critical of. The Bunnies showed far more fight than the Eels in really tough conditions too.

A lot of hate for Maloney, but while his first half was appalling his second half was fine. Some good touches but a costly error at a key moment. He's not going well, but on the debate of him vs Moylan I'd say the only difference between them is that Maloney has actually proven he's a quality halfback. Moylan's only shown glimpses and his best work by far has been at Fullback at this point. I'd be more worried if I was the Sharks right now.

Happy with the win but we have to stop this come from behind business. Good teams control the game from the outset, we can’t just rely on fitness.

Better to win from a losing position than lose from a winning position. Trust me I've seen both in our 52 seasons and I prefer it this way.

Of course you are right. The side has it in them to start well but the harder they try the worse it gets. They only play well when behind. Once they get in front they put the cue in the rack, have you noticed that?

Great win. The team showed they will hang in there for the full 80 this year. Will very rarely be blown off the park. They are an extremely fit team. Plenty of positives beyond the "slow starts".

Maloney has been rubbish the last two weeks. Even Greg Alexander the greatest Panther ever said Maloney has been good at training but not good in games. Are you going to write to him about being negative as well?

Hopefully the coaching staff can see that too, and try and drill percentages into them more for the first half.

What a load of rubbish. And I say that as someone who's not in the "the sky is falling" boat.

It's the biggest load of hogwash that you can't come here with a more positive view of the team and without getting blasted. The problem with the atmosphere of the forum has nothing to do with views on footy (seriously, both camps basically agree with each other) and everything to do with people getting personal. I've been here for years, posted plenty of positive shit and not had a problem.

But I'm sure coming on here and calling half the forum a bunch of muppets in your first post is going to work out real well. Great call champ.

100%. It is being the fitter team that has got us home in our last two games. That might work against some sides but it won’t work against the better ones.

I don’t know what the solution is - this has been a trait of almost all Panthers’ teams I have ever watched play. It must be something in the water out here...

Sometimes I just wish we would take those early points. Souths were happy to give consecutive penalties inside their 20. A couple of 2 pointers from Cleary might make them be a little more law abiding in future.
