Round 2 against the chooks - first home game of the year at temporary home Commbank/Parramatta

Casey should be ok to play with 11 day stand down post HIA injury?

To,o & Henry if fit to come in for Huth and Patea who go back to NSW Cup, with Garner returning to bench as well

interesting questions to ponder:

1. Casey or Alamoti on the wing?
2. Papali'i & Garner to share the left edge during the game?
3. Does Sorro go into front row with Henry giving Moses and Lindsay a break?
4. Laurie remain as 14?

They are interesting questions
1) I think I’ve changed my mind and would like Alamoti on the wing, he looks faster and has excelled every game he has played there.
2) the left is under construction and new combos will have to be built with the 5/8, I love sorro but think Garner and pap share.
3) sorro and papli’i are versatile enough to spend a bit of time at prop each, Martin needs a bit more time on the bench this season in my opinion, so a bit of creative rotating may be the way to go.
4) I think this is a tough one, and would like to see it rotated. Form dependant, Toelau and Blaize may push for inclusion but I like Laurie for now.

I'm scarred by too many years of games when Penrith were tipped to play well and lost.

Therefore I remain a nervous nelly until after the game is played.

Chooks on a good day are very capable of defeating us.
Agree Easts lost a bit but still some talent Back 3 ageing but still capable early in season. Their Centres no name but would you bet your house on our pairing. Chad always seems to lift against us, any pack containing Watson, Crichton, Collins and Radley has to be respected. Our form against Sharks not great and the trip home and party atmosphere in Vegas a hindrance.

We should have too much for them and on paper they'll struggle to make the 8, but I'm not sure about writing off a team before a ball's been kicked. Having a meme halfback for most of the year is obviously a problem, but there's plenty of decent players still in that squad.

Either way, this is one we'd want to be winning.

We just had a big game. Wouldn't surprise me if a few of the boys were flat for this one. Still good enough to win but closer than it should be.

this team knows what the standard is - as Chins said they will be well rested and will be keen to put on a show for the first home game of the year.

this is why we kept Dyl, Nath, Kenny & Yeo long term - all workhorses who want to get better each day and push themselves to the limit

That's your first attempt at a "kiss of death" pronouncement for 2025. Now I'm nervous about the game....
My record is f**king impeccable and I actually put my balls on the line with predictions unlike most here.
We are FAR too strong for Easts in 2025
