This isn't the Panthers we grew up with, Alice. We're the pinnacle now.Maybe they are. But that makes me super nervous, for the BOUNCE BACK FACTOR.

This is where all the rubbish talk about title contenders and premiership threats comes out.
The Boncos put 50 on the arguably best reserve grade side in the NRL and they are, according to the so called experts, on track for glory. For crying out loud, it's round 1.
If we beat the rorters by 10 or 12, I'll be a happy fan, BUT, the naysayers will be out in force talking us down because the Boncos did this and the Boncos did that blah blah blah...
We control games, then win games, and when we get to the magic number of 8 in front, we just amp up the defence to strangle sides into submission.
Who cares if one team scores 50, we can win most games scoring 20.
Ignore the haters Panther fans, they talk rubbish.
Correct me if you like but I just like watching the Panthers win, but I reckon we win more games by 8 to 12 points than by 30 to 40.No this Penrith team hasn't been known to run up big scores often during the premiership run. There's only a few 40+ if I remember correctly. It's just a different style of football. More controlled.

Winning by 10 in total control of the game is just as satisfying as winning by 30 with some minor defensive lapses.
Since 2020, we've only scored 50+ points 3 times.
v Sharks (2020) 56-24
v Rabbits (2021) 56-12
v Raiders (2023) 53-12
Have score 40+ 18 times over the same period.
I agree with @WestyLife, we don't blow teams off the park too often. At times it almost seems like we deliberately hold back when we're attacking the line.
Without running the numbers, I think we probably score most of our points in the final 20mins of the match - we just wear them down over the full 80, and grab a couple of pies at the end to celebrate.
I'll be happy with a 7 point win and no injuries if I'm honest.
