I can handle starting the year slow, but the defense is extremely concerning. We looked as bad with the ball as I've ever seen vs Melbourne in Rd 1 last year, but we only leaked 8 points. 60 points in 2 rounds isn't up to scratch for a team like this.

We just didn't turn up at all today, just turned up expecting to win at half pace. Should never have left our proper home ground. Penrith Stadium was like a guaranteed 9 or 10 wins in recent seasons. We're sacrificing our chance to win 5 in a row for the sake of a bloody ground rebuild.

Correct Dyl is the best defensive fullback, he's also great at making meters. None of this changes the fact he's f**king terrible in any attacking play, probably the worst in the comp in this regard.

I'm just forgetting about footy for a few days after that debacle. There are some minimum expectations I carry as a league fan and one is that we would at least win a game that we're bloody $1.04 versus $11 to win... I might have said the same kind of thing after the 12-8 loss to the Tigers in 2023 but at least that game it was pouring with rain and that's a big leveler. No excuses tonight, just piss poor performance.
