Round 2 vs Dragons - Team List Thread

Wouldn't this be early mail as we don't trim down our Tuesday team list until Saturday arvo and then playing 17 until however long before kickoff?

It's late mail, because it's simply copied from the forum discussion we had about it a few days ago....

At the end of the day we've won one game against a team that got belted in the end today and will probably finish bottom 4.

And the side that belted them this week got belted last week by a side most commentators didn't have in the top 8.

And the side we play tomorrow, which were favourites for the spoon, belted the side that was one of the favourites for the comp.

What does all this mean ? Sweet f**k all, every game is different!! Win enough and you make the 8!!

Souths had 40 sets and 34 completed sets against manly and made 1544 metres

Eels had 39 sets and 32 completed sets and made 1738 metres

Note: Manly had 2 top 17 props out against Souths which played against us.

Manly had 29 sets and 22 completed against Souths and scored 4 tries (they made 1343 metres)

Manly had 32 sets and 22 completed against us and scored 2 tries ( they made 1202 metres )

Very true !!

Just like posting stats, makes for interesting reading.

But reading those stats it shows we did ok against manly compared to what Souths did today, but clearly our attack was very "rusty" which is expected considering our new spine.

But we did the basic's very good !!

This is a good analysis as well as the fact that Manly was up 12-0(3 tries) after 20 min and when Green was sent for 10min they were up 12-6(3 tries to 1) and they conceded two tries in that 10min. After that they were 18all going into the last 12 min before capitulating and being blown away at the end of the game .
A lot could be contributed to tiredness after losing a man for 10min .
Manly were probably on par or ahead for the first 70 or so min even with poor goal kicking and being down a man for 10
