Round 2 vs Sharks

McGregor left Leilua on the bench because he is inexperienced and evidently, he wasn't needed. Sims and Frizell are both fit enough for 80 minutes and bringing on Leilua just for him to make a mistake or miss tackles or throw some stupid offload due to his experience makes no sense.

McGregor understands how to use the bench well and he was good with it tonight. He trusts his players fitness levels.

Sharks made 9 errors, had only 36% of possession, were 3/10 in their completion rate and missed 16 tackles to the Dragons 2 in the second half.
They were putrid. As I said, we were gutsy, but they were awful. I'm proud of the boys and absolutely credit where it's due, but there were some really poor errors from the Sharks that gifted us possession and points.

We were putrid in the first half too. 14-0. Damn! Gutsy stuff from the boys.

But I thought our defence was real good despite those two tries after they had a tonne of possession. That defence only allowed them just a penalty goal for the whole rest of the game. That was the big difference. The attitude in defence was amazing...good line speed, strong contact, there were two or three absolute try saving tackles or hold ups over the line that were amazing.

When we started to get a roll on I tell that we had a skip in our step that I haven't seen for a long time. That skip was belief. This playing group is great...still lots of room to improve too thank god.

The attitude though is top notch

He shouldn't select him if he doesn't think he is up to the task. You don't carry a forward on the bench in the hope that you will find yourself with the game in the bag and can give him some soft minutes.
Ridiculous.

I feel like it was extremely evident tonight that our pack is more than fit enough to leave lesser players on the bench. With 35% posession in the first half and a sin bin we were still able to beat the sharks (one of the best packs in the comp).

Boggles the mind why he was even selected. Played two games last week because Mary wanted him to work on his D, which is fair enough. But selecting a likely fatigued player against a team known from their physicality is beyond stupid.

Mary keeps putting us at a disadvantage for no discernible reason.
Other than he is a complete idiot with no idea.

He does think he's up to the task. That's why he selected him. He wasn't needed on the night. If we were down with 5-10 minutes to go he would've come on. But bringing on Leilua to grind out a game isn't a smart idea.

C'mon mate, Friz did make an error and it was probably from fatigue.
If you don't trust them, why are they even on the bench?

Agree.
No luc want have a game this week so how is that going to help his fitness .
No Luc tonight is just a straight out admission from Mc Fookknuckle that he isn't good enough for 1st grade.
The apologists will come up with a Host (excuse my pun) of reasons and they are just blame deflecting.
Demoralising for Luc and will further hinder his progress and add Sele to the list as well.

But Mary is the one banging on about burnout & travel(player welfare)but chooses to under utilise our bench this game, last game & all of last season.
To avoid a fade out they need to be just as fit at the end of the season as the beginning and not using a full bench doesn’t support that.
I reckon he’s a hypocrite in light of all of that.

I hope you had your tongue firmly in your cheek but if not, it is the dumbest post of the night.
