The team doesn’t know how to ice a good lead and finish the game. Sua and debelin just don’t know how to mark up on the try line in defense. two walk in try’s by the bunnies strolling over near Jack and then SUA.
Val had a shocker with his hands and missed a few conversion which he would normally get.
The FG was just pathetic defense by once again the middle forwards who made zero attempt to block it.
The Storm will put 50 on these NRL imposters.
And this dumb team will find a way to lose to the bye game next week. Anything is possible with these geniuss.
f**king pathetic!!!!!!

He probably came to us cos he has clicked off, career wise. And we are the team you come to when that time comes.
We are the place that football goes to die.
Cook, Holmes and Gutho.... sure, glad to have them at Dragons but they weren't hard-fought signings. It was a convenient move for each of them. I like what I've seen from them at times but the truth is, as a club we cant get players we need 99% of the time. Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is. Look at our forwards. It's purely embarrassing. Atkinson was a good get at least.

Everyone surprised Knights had to offer 10 years to get Brown but that's the state of the ggame. A power club could have got him for a nice 3 year contract at a fraction of the cost per year. We just get off cuts and have done so for a while. We don't have an allure and games like today's clearly shows why.

This is all true and this is why Saints' future rests with our junior recruitment. I think Flanno recognizes that and foresees huge turnover in the next 2-3 years. The players who are leaving will be replaced with juniors, many of them recruited from other systems. It is the only way we can compete for talent. One example of this is SG Ball five eighth Charlie Boyle, who we snagged from Manly. Or in fact most of our juniors who have been recruited from distant lands.

It is also the only way out of our current retirement home reputation.

The flip side of this is "Will they stay?" Galvin was a parra junior, went to Wests, and in November will be back on the market. So maybe club loyalty meams little versus dollars.

Loyalty= $13,000,000 for 10 years for a good player.
Breed your own talent will cost $13,000,000 if you play for the Red V.
Melbourne Storm maybe $9,000,000 for the same player.
Imagine creating a Andrew John that will cost you over $15,000,000 for 10 years.
In hindsight Ben Hunt was a bargain and could see the Dragons had nothing to offer him apart more misery, so this year after 6 long years at the Red V, he will fighting for a GF, not fighting to avoid another wooden spoon.

For the last few years, only Hunt or Lomax would go close to man of the match. Possibly Sua and Suli. This year, it looks like only Gutho will go close. You've got to have more players than that, who can step up, to be top 8. We definitely need a middle who is capable of being man of the match.

First of all, respect to all players in both NSW Cup & First Grade today. It was a bloody stinker. Lucky for me I had a fridge full of cold beers, air conditioning and two TVs going (one for the footy and the other for the F1).

My own thoughts pre-game pretty much came to fruition. As long time Dragons supporters we should all know this... Wayne Bennett coached teams rarely, if ever, beat themselves.

The Memazelous & Keppie tries were just plain soft. Su'a, in particular, has cost us a handful of these soft ones now over the last few seasons by not marking up properly on the goal line. For all the good things he does, he really costs us when it's not needed.

Our pack is way too thin, and I'm sure this thought is not lost on any of us. While Klemmer is certainly not going to be the be-all & end-all for us in 2025, I really hope his inclusion at least helps in terms of the props rotation options, because we are seriously out of kilter. Luc needs some sprint training. The individual stats of Guler & Lawrie today have been discussed to death, so I won't do this anymore (and Flanno needs to rip these blokes a new one in particular - or better still think about fast tracking LokoJnr). Thumbs up to Toby Couchman who had to play big minutes in that heat.

Liddle needs to start, Cook off the bench.

Not sure what else FlannoJnr and Ilias could do behind an ineffective pack. In particular I'm not going to give up on Lachie just yet. But we have options if he doesn't work out, and I expect FlannoSnr will wield the axe very quickly if required.

Val Holmes wasn't totally on his game today. Overall the backs are chugging along fine. How do we replace Suli if he will be spending time on the sidelines?

I'm not ready to totally give up on 2025 just yet. We are a "work in progress":
- Get settled on our props rotation
- Tidy up our goal line defence
- Spine, in particular the halves, still need some more miles in the legs & together as a unit
- Learn how to ice opportunities and leads

But a loss to Melbourne, and a third home game possibly dropped this season, is not going to bode well for us at all.

There is A LOT of work to do. I imagine the players will get a few days off over the bye period, but expect a lashing during the days on...

Simply the Red V don't have the cattle, for any rotation, the only thing Flanno can do flog them every week after every loss until the strong survive and the weak move on.
Could of recruited forwards like Safiti and Rcg and have recruited Guler and Klemmer..
We needed more middles and didn't.
Lawrie should be nowhere near the 17.
And this Molo thing will drag on.

My first rant here.
FMD. Armageddon is here. I haven't seen the game today but as I usually monitor the games vie the forum , then watch the replay Most of the time we aren't as bad as described.
Am I pissed at the result? Sure. But guess what our +/- is currently - 9. Previously it would have been much worse. We are scoring plenty of tries but the defence in the middle is struggling as expected. We missed a couple of good signings but I'm in favour of paying what is realistic, not what they demand.
Val is obviously struggling with his kicking but I believe he will come good.
I have been privileged to witness 3 GF wins since following the club in 1971, plus a few Gf losses. On the law of averages I think I have been pretty lucky.
What I am trying to say, give the team your support instead of badmouthing them. At the end of the day it is only a game.

PS. Nobody is going to beat the 11 in a row

Didn’t see the game but the app supplied me score updates.
I thought the had one of the games elite fitness teams? but it seems we got run over in the last 30 mins. Disappointing.
Saw Flanno’s press conference, some yelling comments made, but really it shouldn’t have come to this in round 2.
