Yar re the Max thing, Mathew is more flexible as a depth player, Max is kind of a right centre specific player.. I think we will actually sign him but we need to see who our Lomax replacement is first.. if it had of been Blaize.. he could have played a number of positions, but if we recruit a centre specialist.. I dont think we can retain Max.

But yes Flanno did acknowledge last night that we do need that threat from the back also.. obviously fullback is defence and attack, but in attack its very hard for the rest of the team if the fullback isnt a genuine threat on the inside.
Its a weird predicament. Sloan has some obvious weaknesses off the ball but we lose yesterday's game if he doesn't play.

Yup hes got to be consistent too or we cant just build into a season... I just dont think Flanno will want to go into 2025 without a genuine 2nd fullback option.. even if thats Val Holmes.. who isnt an ideal fullback but if Sloan isnt working.. Val could do a much better job than Lomax with his extra speed.

Imagine if Liddle hurts himself though.. I feel so much better about our chances of playing well for an entire season with 2 hookers.. keeping them fresh not trying to squeeze 80mins for 27+ rounds.

I do actually think Cook will be a big step up though with his running game, especially if his fresh.

I was hating last night the way Grant seemed to be able to skoot to the side and run without a marker being in place.. not sure what was contributing to that but it was awful, free metres on offer.
Yes, great win , so happy but not every player had blinders.
Think the Liddell/ Cook partnership behind a better pack could be sensational. Cook moving to lock for 20 mins would work as well.

check out the replay of the Storm players coming down the tunnel at the Start
Smug pricks
Thought this was going to be a training run
Thought then n there , we were in with a big hope
No1 on the hate list , pushing down the Sharks , Dogs and Broncs ...
Dogs no 1 on the bad list. Souths, Storm, Broncos etc but Penriff are moving closer to this group.

I know Kogarah is down the road but Dogs still haven't won away from home.
Let's keep it that way next week.
By the way the adds here pmo.

Think you will find they have won 2 games away, and have been unbeaten at home.

Last year we didn't win outside of NSW or had any consecutive wins.

They've been some big improvements for sure obviously our problem this year is consistency when we are on we so good but when are off we are abysmal how can we be so bad at Wollongong and get pumped one week then beat the best team in the competition at home the next week is beyond me. Been doing all year in round 1 we looked a million bucks against the Titans only to look like a complete mess and get spanked by the Dolphins.

I'm still on a huge high from this win by good God is this team frustrating! Which side turns up on Saturday? Would be a very happy man if we can smash the scum next week.
I keep saying it’s all about our size.. we have a big size team and that’s the difference year..

Cook is 2 classes above Liddle

While reflecting on last nights game I contemplated was it better attack or better defence that won it for us.

I think we were still very clunky in attack albeit Hunt’s kicking for Sua a definite improvement but his constant kicking to Lomax in the last 20 minutes highly predictable and unimaginative.

In defence we still gave up far too many easy metres but did manage to cover up a lot of dangerous busts.

In the end I think the win was all about pressure namely that which we exerted and that which we absorbed.

We pressured them far better than we have any other quality team all year and likewise we repelled / parried them better than any other quality team all year.

As a result of doing that we won through sheer determination and as a result of our pressure they faltered despite not playing poorly.

In the end they played as good as we allowed them too and they paid for their mistakes rather than capitalising on ours.

Neither the Sloan individual magic moment nor the Sele & RFM lunacy won or lost us the game in the end we won because we out pressured them.

Certainly a long way from perfect but a very solid win and hopefully we are now at that pivotal turning point and there is no return.
