Taking the yacht for a run around the harbour must be some new euphemism for fingering ones own freckle. 2 out of 10 wouldn't use.

Tries:
Peachey - 6
Whare - 3

Linebreaks:
Peachey - 7
Whare - 4

Linebreak assists:
Whare - 5
Peachey - 1

Try assists:
Whare - 2
Peachey - 1

Tackles
Peachey - 251 for 41 missed (16.3% missed)
Whare - 132 for 28 missed (21.2% missed)

Run metres
Peachey - 1949m
Whare - 1133m

Tackle breaks
Peachey - 59
Whare - 21

Whare has played more minutes by a small margin. Between Peachey on the bench and Whares injury the stats are about as fair to compare as can be.

Peachey wins.

Its pretty clear if your argument for Whare being picked over Peachey is based on defence then there is nothing in it. I mean Whare's defence has been sub par all year.

Like I said earlier he has an advantage in positioning and passing, that's it really. IMO Peacheys ability to get defences going backwards and swing momentum our way is far more valuable. It also isnt a bad thing having him looked on one side, he can get in the way when he is just allowed to roam.

Whare's defence will get back to what it was as his knee gets better. The Whare in round 26 will be far better then in round 1. I'd take Whare this week over Leota in the team. Start Peachey at lock and he can follow the ball and around the ruck cause havoc.

Full strength possibly still have Peachey at centre but with questions over Cartwright's mental state, No Moylan, No Merrin and possibly no JFH. It makes no sense to keep Leota or someone while Peachey gets no ball in the centres and Whare is watching

It might get back to where he was, it might not, there are no guarantees. He missed almost two years, its not just one serious injury either, just assuming he will recover in to the same player is a bit much. Either way he doesn't need to be playing FG for it to happen.

Imagine if Peachey had been allowed to play in the centres all season, his defence would very likely have improved as well as his positioning offensively and passing. He would be a much better centre for having played there all season. Reading the defence, positioning etc that all improves with experience playing the position.
We trained Peach in the centres all offseason then shuffled it around after a few weeks.

You don't think Peachey being able to roam helped Peachey score in Bathurst? He also scored against Warriors off the bench

In that case why not Mansour in NSW Cup too? He had the same injury same recovery is also down on prior years form

After Bird and Chambers showed him up 2 weeks in arow Peachey was moved. We also trained Moylan at FB the whole off season yet moved him for the better of the team. Peachey hasn't had a bad game off the bench we just need to use him more

Because even playing as is Mansour is the best winger we have by a country mile, you try to make silly points sometimes. Whare flat out is not one of our best two options at centre and to accomodate him we have to move a number of players around it doesn't make sense and it doesn't make us a better side.

I understand where you're coming from but this is just too much to be ignored:

our strongest team by orders of magnitude has a backline of Edwards, Peachy, Blake, Mansour, DWZ. Whare might have been great but just doesn't fit right now. The team has evolved beyond him and it'll take time to catch up if ever based on having to change the structure to suit him.

We have played our best footy with those four filling the outside back positions over the last two years by a country mile.

In general teams that make the least changes to their line up do better in this comp. Some changes are forced and some just have to be made(Ie Edwards, Moylan). To bring Whare in we have to make multiple changes. Bench Peachey, Switch Waqa and drop Katoa. These changes effect our defensive and offensive combinations and it changes up our rotation. IF you are going to make all these changes for a player(in a winning side no less) you better be absolutely sure he is going to improve the side.
