Round 22 vs Panthers

he is the one player in our team the opposition backs are very wary of and he is a brilliant finisher.
Yes having someone of his sheer size hurtling down on you is not for the faint hearted. I suppose you blokes did not rate Nene Macdonald. He was big, fast and a brilliant finisher too. But made nowhere near the boo boos Rav makes.

Nene had talent, but had massive off field issues.

Peter Gentle. Was interim coach of the Broncos until Kevvie was appointed. I can't say that he has had a huge effect on improving our defence.
So instead of importing our coach plus several players from Maroon territory.. we also imported several support staff too. Why not be done with it and change our name to Brisbane Dragons.

Well, if they did that, I would stop supporting them! And I'm sure that would be of great concern to the club! Hook obviously thinks Gentle has something to offer. Maybe he is wrong.

I agree with most of the last of your post. But that Edwards try was a shocking read by Rav.. the comm called it a missile, I call it a missed missile and it created a huge gap and overlap which let to a try. Basicly was 13 against 12. That is the kind of brainless enthusiasm I am alluding to that spoils Ravs copybook.
Dunno about that one. The 3 on 1 overlap was already created rav rushed in to shut it down. Got bested in the end but made the correct read on who was getting the ball at least.

I hope he keeps doing it, puts massive pressure on the opposition and has shut down multiple plays from it, he just needs to use his arms so he doesn't cop another suspension as we can't afford him on the sidelines.

Completely disagree. His mistakes exceed his good plays. Yes he has bulk and decent speed and makes the odd massive hit. But misses more than he makes. The bloke does not know the meaning of marking his fellow winger. Therein lies his greatest fallibility. Has plenty improvement to make for mine.. to be the complete winger you blokes say he is.

Drove without a license.. what else during his Dragons tenure.
Mate, I am trying to be helpful here, I'm not looking for a blue! I can only recall rumours about alcohol related incidents, and the one about the crashed hire car on magnetic Island. He has been given an immediate release by at least 3 clubs for off field incidents I think. Anyway, make of it what you will.

He ran at least 20 metres out of his line. Failed to nail his target. That opened the gap and overlap. Big, bruising and perhaps inspirational with ball in hand. In defense over zealous. That is as far as I agree with you. Mostly he is a poor reader. And yes sometimes he forgets to use his arms in the tackle.

Nene was fine by me but Rava has something extra maybe - or maybe not, we'll see next season one way or the other.

You misunderstand I merely asked if you knew of his misdemeanors. Rumors are rumors.. not fact unless proven. Did our board try to get to the truth. That Magnetic Island incident was apparently during his Cowboys time

How'd a big unit like Rava go in the forwards. Reckon he'd be a sensation. Being in closer proximity to his target he'd nail em hard and often. He may even develop an off load.

Caught the last 15 mins of the Tigers v Cowboys game, and it occurred to me again how much the darting from dummy half adds to a teams go forward...both teams last night for the time I was watching excelled in this dept....the committment and urgency displayed by them was an eye opener from 2 lowly placed sides.....I know McCullough does a lot of defensive work but unfortunately hes way to slow and one dimensional for me....if Hook has no plans for Hunt to be in the no 9 in the immediate future then imo another hooker should be one of our main priorities next year

Couldn't agree more...like i posted when we signed him...it is truly one of the most ridiculous recruitment decisions in the clubs history, signing a 31 year old, coming off a major injury, who was already well known to be one of the slowest hookers in the comp, to a three year deal...Absolutely bonkers 🤪

If we are running out at the start of 2023, and he is our dummy half still, we are in a world of trouble...
