Was it just me but the Penrith defence were offside the whole game.
Every time the dummy half passed the ball, the receiver had defenders waiting for him to catch the ball to tackle him. No wonder we had no go forward!

I finally got to see what Amone can do. Looks very good.
If Cleary doesn't get charged, Dragons should take action. Glad Hook mentioned in his post game talk. Only time I lost it and yelled at the TV.

Bird needs to go back to centre, if Beale stays he can be backup only.
Kerr is being under utilised. He has good size and mobility and a quick play the ball.
We missed Sims today.....and Vaughn.

Disappointed that Hook denied any interest or intent for Kikau.
Don't ever want to hear Ennis's voice again, a complete biased knob.

Today we were without:
our best player of 2020 - McInnes
our best player of 2021 - Hunt
our best 2nd rower - Sims
our best prop - Vaughn
Hope Burgess, Molo and Sua make a difference next year.
We were without those players.
But what about earlier in the year when we lost to the dogs and tigers x2 when they were there except for Cameron
Any team half decent beats those teams.

Funny how people say the coach isn’t up to it yet he doesn’t need to teach them to hold the ball? Penrith scored something like 3 tries off our own mistakes… if we hold the ball and don’t give them field position it’ll be a much closer game, every week we gift points with terrible ball handling
But he is in charge and picks dopey at 5-8
Bird at fb.
And not Duff our only attacking player pick both or none at all.
There's no excuse for that
Dopey cost us two tries and passed the ball to a player when the defence was already hugging them.

No it wasn’t just you they were offside almost the entire game

We did get some 6 agains early on and couldn’t capitalise because the ref then went soft on them so the continued ti stifle our attack with the same tactics

Unless the refs give a direct penalty or sin bin a player the better sides will just continue doing it ad-infinitum and the lesser sides have no way to counter it.

Love your point re Ennis who is a complete knob jockey and just makes me long for that golden bygone era of Moose Mossop and his controversy corner cohorts

Ennis the menace, hates the Dragons when he played with us he was loathed by everyone and they got rid of him to the Broncos.

I didn't get home until the game was finished and turned the radio off in disgust when I heard that we had over 60% of possession in the first half, but still trailed 16-6.
The Bird at full-back thing has got to stop. So has the Norman at 5/8 thing. And the McCullough thing,
Then, to top it all, I hear on ABC Radio that the signing of Moses Mbye is a done deal. What is this going to achieve, other than to stymie the careers of players like Sullivan and Amone?! We've got a few young, skillful backs coming through - what they need is a dominant forward pack to build a platform that allows them to do their stuff, not some like for like replacement of Corey Norman with another has-been-who-never-really-was sleepwalking his way through game after game.
Our recruitment and development is so far off keeping pace with other clubs it's laughable. Cody Ramsey's U20s highlights reel would take ten times as long to watch as his NRL one. Ditto Jackson Ford. Ditto Adam Clune. We are killing these guys with inept coaching and - by all accounts - archaic training.
We can all see it. Why the f*** can't the brains trust in the club see it and set it right?
I agree with most of what you say but there are a couple of arguments here:
* Mbye is not being recruited to take Norman's position. He being signed to be our utility. He can play FB, Centre and 5/8.
* Amone put his hand up last night and looks streets ahead of Sullivan in terms of claiming the 5/8 position.
* I agree that Bird is a disaster at FB although you can never question his ticker. He is a rugged, in your face defensive centre in my view and nothing else. Let's stop experimenting with him.
* If Griffin doesn't want to use Dufty for whatever reason then use Sloan. At least the kid's got speed to burn and looks to have a lot of attacking flair. Couldn't do worse than Bird last two games.
* In terms of Ramsey, he definitely hasn't set the world on fire but he came into first grade as a fill in when both incumbent wingers (Ravalawa and Pirera) were suspended. He is not a winger. He is a specialist fullback and until he actually gets some serious game time in that position, we will not know whether he can contribute to the improvement of our team.
* Norman has been a waste of cap space and is not competitive in today's game. He has ESL written all over him and has been consistently disappointing since McGregor signed him on big money. I hope Griffin gives him a miss for the rest of the season.
* I agree that We need to pump up our forward stocks. Molo is a good signing but we need a couple more hard heads that can build some intimidation into our pack.
Frankly speaking, I think both McCulloch and McGuire have not disappointed me. Their work rate and commitment is impressive. There is no doubt that they are reaching the veteran stage of their careers but they are a lot better than some of the journeymen we have signed in the recent past.
If we can improve the rest of the pack, their experience could well make a big difference.
* Just a final word on Griffin. I think he is miles ahead of McGregor who we persevered with for 6.5 long years. We can at least give him a chance to see whether his methods are still relevant in today's game.

Rex loved Manly, but he was blunt, when he had to he was fair. He and the rest of guys, like Ferris and Col, Alex at least they called a spade a spade when it came to the game they weren’t frightening to say how it was.

Not like these hacks and frauds like Fox, Nine who have hate and bias to certain teams, it stinks from the head down. Right from the NRL.

Get rid of the stupid rule as its not consistent. ..... leave it up to the Ref lines men to decide. ..... the changes are ruining the game ...... Rules only aply to the bottom teams .....
