I've discussed plenty of points where there is some ambiguity - where will Gutherson and French play? Who will be our right side half and hooker? Who will partner Mannah and Scott in our starting front row?
"Discussed" - by only referring to what has happend in the past.

Your point is stupid with no basis in anything other than your dislike of a player.
I don't dislike Mannah at all - I've credited him for still even bothering with footy since 2013 with what he and his family have faced.

It's a simple discussion of when Mannah's time of being first choice starter will be over. Will it be next season, will it be half way through next season, will it be next week? Let's have a discussion and learn from differing points of view!

But to claim to be part of a discussion about future possibilities of team selection, you kind of need to say what YOU think SHOULD happen in 2017 and why - without adding unnecessary disclaimers, or getting splinters from cliched truisms masquerading as logic...

You haven't "discussed" shit about that, other than adding what Arthur has selected up until know (which is easily accessible to anyone), and stating truisms like "nobody really knows". That's why we're having a speculative discussion, which you're invited to join in like everyone else.

Um... no.

Unless you call post-match discussion about whether or not Mannah will be a first choice starting front rower next year "starting it".

Your whole argument hinges on one completely unfounded assumption - that a 28 year old NRL player is in decline.

His hair might be in decline, and he might be having a poor year with injury. His form might even have been down in the past couple of weeks.

But you somehow add it all up to suggest that he is on the decline. Of the victorious Queensland Origin pack (the six starters plus all four on the bench) the only one younger than Mannah is Josh McGuire (born two years after). How long have the other nine been declining?

Deflection much... the point is about Mannah, not the Queensland origin pack.

My assertion is that Mannah's form and performance will no longer merit him being a first choice starting front rower in 2017, given we are recruiting and Alvaro is developing.

You seem to have a massive problem with this, and the lengths you have gone to not to address the issue being discussed are amusing. I don't mind if you disagree... but you just come across looking like a dick by attempting to shut down a differing point of view with all sorts of tangental nonsense or truisms.

We are all in decline from day we are born we are closer to death.
Past his peak thou? YES.
AGE MEANS NOTHING pou. You can be in decline due to game changing.

He is not in decline, he is just having his first ever injury disrupted season.

And even this year he has not come off the bench. He hasn't started on the bench since 2012, the week before Arthur took over.

I suppose Radradra is in decline as well - he has only scored about ten tries this year.

That can be fixed by moving Jennings to the right hand side, but since signing him BA has never done that and has let Jennings start on his preferred left side so while it is possible that he could be moved to the right to allow Semi to score more tries no longer be in decline, I think BA will continue with a declining Semi for the overall benefit of maintaining a potent left edge.

A little bit like the fact BA has always started Mannah when fit and with full squad available and I can see this continuing at least into 2017 unless we recruit 2 gun starting front-rowers and Mannah is shifted to a bench spot as an impact player - his impact being his quality tackling and his quick play the balls (currently the quickest of our middle forwards).. I also noticed he has slowly re-introduced his off load at times over the last 3 weeks.

I recall one dodgy offload. Has there been more? No disrespect intended MJC. Id really like him to improve this aspect of his game but at his age its probably unlikely.

@Gazzamatta my post was a little bit tongue in cheek however I do think that Mannah is no where near the worst option we could have in our front-row.

I agree. Funny thing is Mannah trimmed down to play longer minutes given the reduced interchange. It appears to have had little impact and in fact clubs still look for the big boppers eg Vave. Mannah needs to beef up again and his impact may improve. I think the coaching team got this very wrong.

Isn't the interchange planned to drop even further next year?

Well the teams with the big packs were meant to struggle this year with the reduced interchange. The Dogs, Melbourne and the Raiders have just about the biggest packs in the comp and they are sitting in the top 4.

bahahahaha at the robson and degois lovers. they both useless and love the deep thinkers who want to see them the team next year
I don't think anyone WANTS de Gois AND Robson in the team next year.

Most of us, however, realise that it is unlikely we will be able to replace both with high quality personnel. So, there is rightfully discussion about how they team should be structured with, perhaps, at least one of them still there.
