No he just prefers them starting

Based on what?
Alvaro has come off the bench 67% of the time they have both been in the 17, including as recently as rounds 18-20. Starting them both is a recent idea, and judging by the way we made no inroads on Friday night, I'd argue it doesn't work.

Its like arguing with an toddler...you vehemently hold onto a position with the only evidence seemingly "because I said so"

I'm just telling you what the coach has been doing. But maybe you're right - maybe Alvaro will come off the bench next year. He's been doing more than Mannah in less minutes even when he starts. But Alvaro has been starting over Wicks lately, despite being named the other way around.

Maybe the last 5 pages of shit talking have nothing to do with BA's preference between Mannah or Alvaro as starting forwards, bench forwards, impact players or toilers but more to do with the overall squad balance for the particular game at hand, including who is available and against whom we are playing.

I don't have the stats (and I can't be assed looking them up) but there is an argument about 'horses for courses' which may simply be what BA is applying here and he has no set preference as you 3 seem to think.

What does it mean when he names Wicks at 13, or Peni for that matter?

What the f**k use is that. We can see the past just as well as you.

Probably because Wicks has more impact from the bench than any of our current options. And maybe because Arthur is grooming Alvaro for his future role in 2017, once Mannah is deemed past being first choice starter?

But you seem lost in discussion like this (about analysis of future possibilities and options) because all you seem to focus on is the truism of ""what the coach has been doing" - without meaningful extrapolation or any intellectual exploration...

But unlike me you seem to think the past is insignificant. That hurts your ability to spot patterns.

I'm sure the coach can adapt his structure based on new input. But until he does it's just speculation.

Arthur has been reducing Mannah's number of runs lately while keeping him in the starting lineup on decent minutes. Hardly preparation for a move to the bench. But of course after an off season things could be different. Takairangi could spend 2017 as an interchange utility.

But I doubt it. Because Arthur has given no indication that's how he intends to use him.

Like I said, it's about balance. You shouldn't have all toilets in your 17, nor should you have all impact type players. You must have missed that post.

Having 17 toilets in your team would certainly help at half time as no one would have to wait. It would also improve hygiene

What if we had 17 players who wanted to be treated like toilets. Can you imagine the videos circulating on social media!

Yes.... that's the point. We are speculating about the future - let yourself loose and join in!

But of course after an off season things could be different.
Another useless truism...

Ah, back to the mindset of someone seemingly incapable of discussing future possibilities - until after they have already been set in motion by the "commanding officer".

I've discussed plenty of points where there is some ambiguity - where will Gutherson and French play? Who will be our right side half and hooker? Who will partner Mannah and Scott in our starting front row?

Your point is stupid with no basis in anything other than your dislike of a player. It's up there with talk of Jennings playing on the right hand side so he doesn't steal tries off Semi. Give me a f**king break.
