Ok, surely Mary has lost the dressing room. There is something big happening behind the scenes; I just hop it is not a problem with Hunt.

So how to get the team back on the rails:
1. Sack Mary or at least replace him short term to see if that makes a difference. Bring in one of the unemployed first grade coaches e.g. Maguire, Hasler …….
2. Select form players to replace our injured and out of form players:
1. Lomax
2. Macdonald
3. Lafai
4. Herbert
5. Masters
6. Mann
7. Hunt
8. Frizell
9. McInnes
10. Ah Mau
11. Leilua
12. Sims
13. Sele

14. De Belin
15. Graham
16. Host
17. Robson

Given we will now finish bottom half of top 8 , we should make changes and happy with yours. I just can't agree with Lafai. I understand that without hthe forwards making ground, its hard for a centre to impact the game, however Lafai is a turnstile in defense. So id swap Lomax and Herbert.

I say if Hunt wants to go please go,if Nene wants out so be it.Let them go.
Injuries to Aitken and Nighty are positives and force some change, which would never happen otherwise.
Maybe a silver lining through default and not positive coaching methods.

Nene was reportedly seen with cowboys officials
Couldnt catch a cold today.

You would keep Hunt after his woeful last five weeks.??? Mann has no creativity. We need creative halves to get the forwards moving. I would keep Graham where he is.. he is a workhorse and inspirational.. is Leeson? That outside backs group you chose I chose to a man a fortnite ago. Pity Mary did not. Time for the next gen to be given a go. We need JdB to start if for nothing else his defence. Imho he is the best defensive backrower in the game.

He was, now he isn't.
There was a passage where he charged the Dogs kicker and it was 4 tackles for the Dragons before he was back onside, 4.

We held on early then if the dogs didnt score we could have come out of it .
We are good front runners but rarely win when we go behind.

Now he has to pick a back v Knights
Lomax but herbert runs hard.

He could easily pick 2

Flo is injured, Aitken is injured. Dufty has the speed and creativity, but his defence is suspect close to the line.

Herbert to Full Back

Lomax to Centre

Mann to replace either Flo/McDonald or Pereira.

Field to bench as super sub.

Dufty was hanging against the fence after the game having photos with the kids, my son wanted a photo, when I asked if he was going to learn how to tackle before the finals he suddenly had somewhere else he needed to be.

I've been a big defender of Dufty, but his defence is no where near first grade standard.

Absolutely gutted we dish up that shit with so much to play for. Is an origin jumper all these lazy pricks play for? The red v on their chest clearly means nothing to them! Clear them out and pick some blokes who want to be there.
You mate, have been particularly argumentative and have called me out which I was happy to debate with you.
However you have been talking up our chances and defending McGregor without any merit or substance.
I pointed to the Parramatta game as an embarrassment and you said I seemed to be focused on one loss.
What do you have to say after today flash? Yet another embarrassment to add to a whole list during McGregor's tenure.
Stop having yourself on.
The reality is that the players have lost all confidence in McGregor for some time now.
What you are witnessing are the death throes of our season.
Hunt looks totally disinterested, Lafai and Aitkin are invisible, Dufty is out of his depth and our attack looks like they have never played together before today.
What does St. George stand for anyway?
What about our spiritual home at Kogarah?
We had so much to play for today but instead got booed off by the diehard fans that were still at the ground at FT.

We disagree on a few things, but I'm sure we can both agree that today's performance was absolute dog shit. I'm not to blame for today's loss or for believing in my favourite team. Also the term is 'death row'. Go do something constructive instead of trying to character assassinate people who disagree with you.

Dennis all that in a nut shell . Another year wasted , it will take another 5 years to rebuild with another coach . Backline need a complete overhaul . On Hunt , said a couple of weeks ago looks disinterested , I dont see any effort from him even if his form is down .

Firstly I must give credit to the young Bulldogs who played ever so well today , my how their fans must be feeling knowing that next year promises so much - good luck to them .

The Dragons were horrendous, played without any real purpose , totally lacking in self belief and therefore will not be doing anything except making up the numbers in the semis .

The reasons are many , but it still comes back to , at least imo that they are not inspired to go on to any great heights by the one person whose job it is , the coach cannot get through to them . Right or wrong , good or bad he simply cannnot get his message across to the players and as a result they go out onto the field as a bunch of misfits who are firing only 1 cylinder instead of 8 .

In plain simple English , they are f**ked before they set foot onto the ground , as they have no confidence in what they do and as such merely go through the motions during the game . This is even worse then writing a eulogy for someone that you have loved and know , you will never see again , as it involves more than a person but something that you have cherished since you were a child .

Can only pray that the new owner of the club will see fit to spend some money and get players who have heart and are willing to give it their all and not forgetting a coach who can actually speak to his players and if need to ,put the fear of god into them .
A professional coach will attract players and develop talent from within.
McGregor has always been out of his depth.
None of the players respect him or buy into his game plans.
These guys are not brainless twits, they understand football and how tactics and game plans can succeed.
Once they start to doubt their "Mentor" - it's all over...

The sooner all the fans start jacking up over this farce, the quicker we can start re-building.
I love the way people keep writing off old man Bennett and he just sticks it up their a--e.
We can only wish that we end up with Bennett and his way of doing things.
You can be sure we will not have to endure days like today.
The other positive is his ability to attract top line players.
Big pats on the back for Millward for extending Lafai, Aitkin, Dufty + long term contracts for Widdop and Hunt.
We are struggling to attract topliners with McGregor in charge.
Look at the Dogs half pairing today?
Made us look stupid.
I am just tired of the continual excuses and rationalizations.
McGregor's had a really good go now. The results are there for everyone to see.
Time for the club to step in and put an end to it.

Take away from today's game.
  • All that was predicted re second half of the season performances has come true.
  • As I said somewhere else in the forum, the optimists fell for the 3 card monte trick after last weeks win.
  • Our roster is always over rated by our own supporters.
  • The detrimental effect of sustained bad coaching is underestimated by some "die hard" supporters.
  • People who insist that there is no one good enough in ISP to replace people in 1st grade have NFI what they are talking about.
  • Today was yet again another example that when we should be able to lift for the greater good of the club and its history on very special / commemorative days, neither the playing group nor the coaching staff can find it within themselves to do so, so therefore our soul has gone AWOL.
  • Listening to our side being booed is the most gut wrenching and chilling sound you can ever here at a footy match.
Oh OT, everyone here feels the pain, but your first instinct is to claim validation? Would you like a cookie? If that makes you feel better then enjoy, I guess. But one response anyway.
- if someone makes 25 predictions and is right twice, then claims they’ve been right all along it’s not very convincing. And when the prediction was one even the ‘optimists’ always said was possible it’s just not that impressive.
- so a game where the team showed defensive intent and attitude was a trick? Saying that it was good the team showed that attitude is somehow gullible?
- I don’t watch ISP, and I’m pretty sure you don’t either, so that’s both of us with NFI.

I completely agree on the last two points though. The team under Mary has shown near zero ability to get up in high pressure/ emotion games at the pointy end of the season. They can and did do it through the first half of the season, but is the inability to adapt and progress and stay focused as a team through the season that guts us at the end.
Anyway we’re all gutted here. I’ve got the kids to bed and am going to say hello to the wine bottle. Peace

The word is "death throe" which means when life is ebbing out of something.
I don't understand your issue with me.
I am calling it as I see it.
McGregor is a liability.
He is unqualified to coach FG.
As a club, we cannot afford to lose like we did today.
I was actually confident that, given what we had to play for, we would put up a fight today.
But I was wrong.
It was total capitulation.
It's not about being "constructive".
We need change and we need it fast.

Brian Johnstone came out for the presentation of the game ball to Flo and was there for Tariq to present his 12 jumper to Lances daughter, Craig Young was on the sidelines.
The Bulldogs players stayed and formed a guard for Flo as he came off.

You know who was conspicuous by his absence?
