Really.yes you hate Bird and thats Ok..but a bit of perspective needed after today
he did no worse a job than KF

Bird has always been a really good defender and our defense in the second half was perfect. I think he had alot to do with that.

He made 12 tackles today at 5/8, Flanagan regularly makes between 20/30. Bird is ok with one on ones but his reading of a defense is poor .

He does scramble well though

Big ups also to Christian Tuipulotu. Yeah he's probably the slowest winger in the game but he was an absolute beast taking the ball out of trouble for us yesterday. He seemed to get at least 10 metres with every run - even when the rest of the team were struggling to get more than 5 - carrying defenders with him as he did so. He was fantastic in that tough second half for us

I think I saw DCE in the crowd at WIN yesterday? Might have been a motivator for Hunt as he looks up to him. He was ON which is great.

Due to a crappy live stream I missed the great cover tackle by Sloan before his rag doll. What a bold double play by a kid coming of age, along with his attacking bomb defuses that he was not confident doing early in the season.

Problem is he is all scramble. Attack, defence all the same. He doesn’t do “systems” or “structures” quite as well.

But full credit to him, he had a very good game yesterday.
