Yeo was a centre winger comung thru
Edwards a 5/8
Luai a halfback

Need i go on??

For a bare bones hooker hes ssrviceable.

Again, your post indicats you are comparing him to api cause hes passes arent as slick.

Api is the best 9 in the comp on 4 times what kenny is.

If instead you compared kenny to other players at his pay grade he does a great job.
Kenny rips in but he's not good enough. We'll be counting on Luke and thatd a big worry

If Mitch Kenny is our first choice dummy half next year we are in massive trouble.
Michael Ennius said last night that Kenny service is too slow at hooker.
He identified why he is slow and what needs to be done. Pass off the floor, do not take a step. He needs to practise that in the off season.

All those guys played in their current positions atleast for fill in, SG Ball and Flegg sides he played in. He was lock only

How many players on Kenny's pay grade are in sides trying to push for premierships?

That is what it comes down too

He's a handy player to have in the squad but he'll never be a starting 9

As for being clunky in attack, Luai has been out for four weeks and has played minimal games with O'Sullivan , so it was expected. We should be able to start the semifinals with everybody fit but "clunkiness" will be our challenge. I think our defence will be better with Nathan playing, but can we score enough points to beat the Storm or Roosters who have lifted their game?

Right now the only teams I fear are the Roosters and the Storm. Lodge has made the Roosters pack the best in the NRL now. Their pack has us covered and JWH and Lodge will delight in battering us. Their challenge is not to lose a game for a month because they will finish fifth and the intensity can grind you down.

The Storm has Munster and Hughes in it and those two can create anything if their forwards can go the distance.

As for the Eels, I don't buy into the "Moses folds under pressure" argument. He is playing better than Nathan has this year. I just think that over 80 minutes, with a full team playing, we are a better team than they are. Our pack is better over 80 minutes, they can match us in the forwards for about 50 minutes and then they start to struggle.

Radley will be gone for a month. Collins got suspended for 3 games

This is the Roosters. JWH will probably be awarded a bonus payment and given a free car for services to the game. Collins is likely to receive a promotion to the Kangaroos side and Peter V'Landys will clean his car for a month.

You know who else improved with game time in our system? A journeyman hooker who was on the outer at Manly and let go to make way for a rookie (who admittedly showed a lot of promise but also a penchant for stabbing people in the back; not the Todd Payten type stab in the back; but literally stabbing people in the back).

No way people thought Api was ‘the best 9 in the comp’ when we signed him; wasn’t even the best hooker at Manly…

So true CWPanther sp true.

Since Api has been at Penrith he has come along in leaps and bounds.

So has it been that Penrith's system has enhanced Api's natural ability. If Api had stayed at Manly would he be where he is now.

Many on this forum almost lamblast the works of the coaching staffs. Yet so many players come into career best form, when playing within our systems.

It can't be just luck or the players natural ability.

Fascinating isn't it ?

Everyone knew he was a massive upgrade on what we had at the time, and at the time we had Mitch Kenny. Our options were all poor. Kenny, Egan and Katoa.

He was, and is still better than Mitch. But the suggestion that Mitch hasn’t improved considerably since 2019 (which was really his first year of playing hooker) wreaks of bias.

He remains a work in progress but is improving rapidly and I am pretty excited about a combination of him and Luke next year; Kenny to take the sting out of the game (which he does better than Api) and then Luke to come on when it opens up a little. I think it will be amazing having Luke and Spencer both attacking the tiring defence around halftime.

Smith was disappointing with the ball, too easily handled.

He is a simple Reserve grade fill in. He couldn't really crack the Top 17 of any club the way he has been going.
Some 'discards' seem to find a new life in our squad and really kick on as players. Others not so much.
