It's back up.

3. Josh McGuire - Made valuable metres up the middle, lots of tackles, he's really in-form and it's great to see.
2. Andrew McCullough - Kept the momentum going up the middle and came up with a crucial tackle on Kidley that changed the complexion of the match.
1. Alex Glenn - Great defensively forcing crucial mistakes and coming up with a couple try savers. Our left edge was mostly great on Monday and it had to be up against Uate and I thought Glenn was a big part of that. Scoring the match sealer certainly helped.

Unlucky: Hoffman, Lockyer, Wallace, Anderson, Thaiday and Parker.

Despite the frustration I thought we played well in the first half and once we calmed down and controlled ourselves I thought we played some good footy and it was encouraging to see us run over the top of the Knights in the final stages.

The highlight for me was watching Lockyer shift onto other sides of the field. He seldom seems to do this anymore but in the lead up to the finals it should give us another dimension and it certainly produced dividends against the Knights.

Was also happy to see Hunt cross over, he's appeared likely a few times just to be denied by a last gasp tackle. Hopefully now that he's broken the drought he can score a few more.

I think the problem might be when you go to the match report page on NRL.com there is no "Game Analyser" tab.
But if you go to one of the other games and click game analyser you can switch to the Brisbane game from there.

I almost spilled my drink when I saw that try. Was that just really poor defence or is Hunt better than I thought?

It wasn't great defence but he still had to work for the try. I just hope a preseason is enough to get him comfortable at halfback now...

I have some optimism... Surely one of our halfback options has to be better than some of the halfback/No. 6's currently running around out there...

I point mainly to Stig, Townsend, Thompson, MacGuire etc

Thompson is a very good player. Cowboys have a great backup to Thurston.

You're probably right. The players you've named have all made good start but not elaborate. Except Mcguire who has returned and has made good but also a veteran. McGuire always reminds of John Plath. He can play anywhere anytime.

Better late than never.......

A good win against the Knights, considering I still think we're really only playing in 3rd gear. Our attack for mine still hasn't clicked yet

still........26-6 victories can't be complained about.

Wallace was maginificent guiding the team around and in defense too, increasingly taking the reigns and allowing Locky to choose his moments.

When I 1st read that Au, my eyes nearly rolled out of my head..........:D

but

you're right, Wallace WAS fantastic.

His defence can't be equalled IMO by any other half in the comp and whilst he still isn't opening up the opposition with his attack, he is certainly the driving force behind his forward pack's "go forward".

How many off loads did Parker get away? Brilliant stuff. That aspect of his game just gets better and better each week.

Another strong showing by McGuire as well. Probably went a bit quiet after the finger in the eye. Still did enough to get a point out of me.

Other mentionables were Anderson, Glenn and McCullough. Sam Thaiday impressed me with his leadership in the forwards.

Locky........classy as ever. His penalty that he gave away on the 1st when his team needed a break was classic quick thinking football. Hoffman another great showing......

and how the f*ck that ball from Anderson to McGuire was called forward is beyond me. Should have been a great try to McG.

3. Wallace
2. Parker
1. McGuire

As I said, our attack still hasn't clicked yet and we're winning well.

I believe we're slipping in under the radar as the finals loom in the distance.

Feels good.........

He will never be a Johns, Locky or Thurston, and he probably won't come up with stuff from Benji's book either, but I'm very happy with the way he's going about his job, and the team has been improving as much as himself and Macca imo.
As much as I used to b!tch about Macca, he deserves heaps of credit for the latest weeks, and even Hunt has been pretty good.
We're building towards something!

As I said previously, there's a reason why Hook is the head coach, and we're all couch potatoes...

Yes Wallace is going quite well. Attack wise it still has be worried about next year when the will be the MAIN playmaker.

Macca going awesome as well although remember he did the same thing last season and dropped off start of this year. Consistency is going to be the biggest thing for him.

He's only 21, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I see a lot of Cam Smith in him. I know it's a big call, but he just needs to keep progressing, gain experience and mature to become one of the best in the NRL consistently.

As for Wallace, he's been the main organiser of the attack for most of the year, and Locky only injects himself here and there with his Midas touch. amd we'll miss that of course.

No team loses a player of Locky's calibre without suffering withdrawal symptoms, but hopefully one of the youngsters will pick up the boots, and pad them until they fit!

That probably explains why our back line attack really hasn't dominated thus far......:p

I agree with GTB .........next year is still a worry re: Wallace on his own.
